일본 본토 서쪽 끝, 「규슈 히라도」 오지에서 만난 고대 자연과 시골의 온기 《굴러서 세계속으로 🇯🇵ep.3》

From an exhilarating ride in a place that resembles pristine nature, to an adventure story that conquers the westernmost part of Japan, to a story of priceless love in a rural village, I am currently passing through ‘Hirado’. Hirado, the westernmost tip of mainland Japan, ‘heading to the western tip’ It rained heavily for 3 days, so we stayed here at ‘Akariya House’ for 3 days. Today we will go to a place called ‘Hirado’ in the westernmost part of Japan. We are going to visit the westernmost part, and next to it is said to be a very beautiful ‘Sunset Road’. Even though it is raining, we will still set off. I think I should probably wear a raincoat. Even though it’s drizzling, I don’t want to get wet. Thank you so much. goodbye. 😊 Now, shall we leave? Still, the atmosphere on a rainy day is so nice, don’t you think? Wow.. the road is so beautiful. (Surprise) Wow… Because of the fog here, the atmosphere is very dreamy. I have now passed the bridge that crosses ‘Hirado’. After this ‘Hirado’ was connected by a bridge, it was recognized as the mainland, and the place on the far left was changed to ‘Hirado’. Although it is raining a lot, I will not stop and go straight to the westernmost part of the country , which is one of the main goals of my trip to Japan . I’m continuing to climb the mountain, and it feels like I’m passing through the clouds. Passing through the clouds, isn’t it really a wonderful atmosphere? Wow.. the scenery is beautiful. (Surprise) Everything is green! Nonsense! Hirado! Wow… it feels like I’m in the jungle. No way… I arrived at a village called ‘Nokocho’ located in the innermost part of ‘Hirado Island’. The westernmost point I’m trying to get to now has to go over that mountain. You can go there by motorcycle, but since it has rained a lot so far, the road there is quite rough and it is dangerous to travel by motorcycle, so I will park my bike in the parking lot here and try to climb up on foot. They say it takes about 40 minutes to walk. Let’s try it! Nokocho Village, westernmost part of mainland Japan, ‘heading towards the western end’ . The road here is like the entrance to a ‘primitive forest’. Im here. This is the westernmost point of mainland Japan! (Please excuse the noise of the wind) Originally, the place you can see over there is the real end, but (strongly welcoming rain and wind) I think we can cross because the tide is low. However, it does not cross over. The wind and rain is so strong! (Sad, but happy) As expected, the sea is the same everywhere. It’s a garbage dump. The weather is rough, so there is nothing to see right now. Rather than thinking, ‘It’s pretty or cool,’ I thought, ‘ I’m screwed, what should I do?’ I need to escape quickly. I head back less than 5 minutes after arriving here. I’ve only climbed a mountain, but it’s pouring rain. Please use Japan’s weather forecast for reference only. It changes very quickly. I didn’t see it when I passed by this place earlier, but it looks like there’s an exhibition going on. Now again, I’m through to the other side, and it’s so quiet here. A little rain is falling. Perhaps the mountain over there is blocking the clouds. Nature is really amazing and fun. Wow.. cool! To rest my body tired from the wind and rain, I stopped by a small store nearby. Here, I encountered a warmth that I will never forget for the rest of my life. hello? Oh, the bag is fine. I’m Korean so I can’t speak Japanese. fishing? Travel for 3 months! Wow, that’s amazing! how old are you? I’m 32 years old. Are you married? I didn’t. Hahahaha Oh, by any chance, could I spend the night quietly in that parking lot ? Are you okay? yes. are you okay! Thank you, mother. Wow, you are so kind. I just bought something and it added to my happiness. We decided to camp in the parking lot here. I think I’ll just spread out a small tent and sleep. There is a light rain, but it doesn’t matter at all. It’s okay if it gets a little wet. (I’m running because it’s closing) Do you have beer or traditional Japanese liquor? That’s where the alcohol is! there! Not here. there! Are you open for business? huh! It’s open. Thank you, Mom😊 Did you come alone? Where do you sleep? In the parking lot. What did you do before your trip? While preparing for a job, I decided to just travel. amazing! How did you prepare for travel expenses? I worked at the factory for about half a year. Take care of yourself. Cute guy🥰 (Mom is cuter) Thank you! I feel like crying. How long has it been since you received such a friendly smile? We just met as seller and buyer, but I can clearly feel that warm feeling. It makes you think a lot. Hirado has nature, the western end doesn’t matter, and I will always remember my mother as a very beautiful person. (He personally brought me fried chicken) Are you sleeping here? yes. I sleep here. Take care of yourself! Take care, mom too! The liquor store… oh, it’s closed? Should I give you a ride? Should mom bring it for me? to..? no. Let’s go together. Japanese people don’t take other people’s things. That’s right… (Leaving everything behind and accompanying his mother) (Tough mother trying to tie the belt herself❤️) Were you a soldier? Yes, I was a soldier for two years. Was it hard? no. This is the same thing that all Korean men go through. I was so touched by my mother’s kindness. I feel like crying. Don’t cry, son! hello! grandma! A Korean came and said he wanted to try Japanese alcohol! How much is it, grandma? It’s okay, get in the car. Don’t drink too much! It’s my mom’s nagging. It’s so lovely. Haha that’s right. Was the ‘Busan’ young man popular in Korea as well? Not at all. I like to be alone. Ah, I see. It’s a long life. Live happily! thank you Thank you again. are you okay. Always be careful! Go in carefully, Mom. be careful! thanked! (Long-lingering aftertaste) It’s so delicious. (Tears welling up) No need for salt or seasoning. Even just eating the chicken is so delicious. I think it tastes even better because it contains a mother’s love. I also told my mother about my YouTube channel, so she will probably watch it. I have to say hello again. Mom, thank you again. It’s so delicious🥹 Are Japanese people different on the outside and the inside? I don’t know what kind of experience they had. It’s really unfortunate. But this is definitely not the case for me. Thanks to my mother, my perception of Japan has completely changed. I also took time to slowly look back and reflect on the shameful preconceptions I had upon hearing the story . I really regret not bringing a sleeping bag. It’s a summer-only tent, so it’s very cold. I wore all the clothes I had, but it was so cold😇 Early in the morning, we set off to find another view of ‘Hirado’. But before that, there is a place you must visit. mom! See the westernmost part of Japan! I went through heavy rain yesterday. By motorcycle? I walked haha. I came to say hello one last time. Thank you so much. Drive safely and stay healthy! all right! Take this. Eh… take care of yourself. Thank you very much. I saw your YouTube video! I heard you have a long beard? Oh, I cut it out😊 Good job. Let’s go now. thank you! Ah… I even got some snacks. (What a lovely mom) Thank you! Going to a certain place and meeting a certain person is an important point, but for me, thanks to my mother, it was a time when stereotypes about Japanese people were broken down and a new one was created. Just as there are warm people and bad people everywhere, I think you have to experience it yourself. Leaving ‘Nokocho’, the westernmost village that was like spring sunshine, in my heart, I set out to find another treasure in ‘Hirado’. If you are interested in motorcycle travel in Japan, this is a place everyone knows. Yes, I am heading to ‘Ikitsuki Island’ now. There is a coastal road with overwhelming scenery called ‘Sunset Road’ . It is said to be a place with beautiful scenery , so much so that Japanese automobile companies such as Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Toyota film many commercials there . I was glad that the weather was clear this morning, but only for a short time. Rather, dark clouds are gathering from afar. Therefore, after quickly exploring the ‘Sunset Road’, we plan to go to a place called ‘Sasebo’, located above ‘Nagasaki’. Let’s start safely today! Eh~ I’m sorry😇 You need to grow up healthy! (Famous greeting from Korean TV) Now I am entering ‘Ikitsuki Island’! Wow.. the atmosphere is ridiculous! This place is so beautiful. Wow.. it looks like a place that appeared in the movie ‘Avatar’. Currently, it is raining heavily on ‘Ikitsuki Island’. But it’s better when it rains. The jungle-like rocks rising here are very dreamy. It’s raining and there’s a mist from the rain, creating a much dreamier atmosphere. If the weather had been clear, I don’t think it would have been this dreamily beautiful. Wow… it’s so beautiful. I am currently heading to the northernmost part of Ikitsuki Island, to a place called Obae Lighthouse. Of course, the weather is cloudy, but since it is an ‘observatory’, I think you will be able to see a wonderful view. I arrived before I finished speaking. Can a motorcycle climb too? It will be possible. I’m going up too. Oh, is it okay? Since you said the summit is okay, I think I can go up there. (sorry for the wind noise) I am now at the lighthouse. But the wind is so strong. I can’t control my body. But I’m glad I visited this place. The 270-degree panoramic ocean view will clear your mind. And it is said that in that direction is Korea’s ‘Jeju Island’, and in that direction is Japan’s ‘Tsushima Island’. If the weather is sunny, you can see the island, right? So cool! I leave the westernmost islands of mainland Japan, Hirado and Ikitsuki, and head to a place called Sasebo, located just above Nagasaki. The GPS tells me it will take about 2 hours. I will travel diligently and safely. To the left of ‘Ikitsuki Island’ is beautiful nature, majestic mountains, rocks, and the sea, while to the right of ‘Ikitsuki Island’ is a quiet village. I think it’s probably because the mountains over there block the wind heading towards this village. It is a quiet coastal town. The nature here is like a roller coaster. It was dark green, passed through a dark tree tunnel, looked like a jungle, and then showed light trees again. It’s pleasing to the eyes. That thing looks like me? It’s so similar to me now. I entered the city of ‘Sasebo’. Sasebo is said to be a maritime city with a population of 230,000, the 9th largest in Kyushu and the second largest in Nagasaki Prefecture. And, although it is a ‘maritime city’, its characteristic feature is that the city center is located on a steep mountain. This ‘Sasebo’ seems to be very large, because although I am passing through the city center, I still have another 40 minutes to travel. (40 minutes later) I think this is the place. what? He is from Daegu, Korea. (There is one more person visiting from Korea today) Yes. Found a motorcycle! (Is this a coincidence?) Yes! It’s very interesting. They say it’s a great coincidence. Koreans met each other. I will be sharing the same accommodation as Koreans. Oh, is this this place? Are you Korean? Oh, yes, hello. Which bed is mine? You can use the bed on the right. thank you This is the end of the colorful and warm story of the western part of Japan. From now on, I’m heading down towards the southern tip of Japan, and the next episode will probably be about ‘Nagasaki’. We’ll see you in the next episode, filled with heart-warming stories.
