Today we find ourselves exploring the notorious abandoned Hamilton City Center Mall. This shopping center originally began its life as an Eatons department store in 1927. After the company’s bankruptcy in 1999, the department store was demolished and from the rubble rose the Hamilton Eaton Center Mall. Sadly it was outcompeted by larger surrounding malls that popped up in the area, and foot-traffic began to slow for the mall. The mall rebranded as the Hamilton City Center Mall in the early 2000’s but later announced it would be closing its doors permanently December 26 2022. The mall was soon after purchased by a developer who plans to build a condo complex on the property, but with troubled economy the project has fallen flat. The mall now sits abandoned, slowly decaying with an uncertain fate. Join us as we explore this old abandoned mall and see what was left behind

Great video
nice transition into your sponsor 😆
17:30 I'm getting Another Dirty Room flashbacks!!!
Definitely getting dawn of the dead vibes 😂
This mall was definitely a vibe back in the day. Also, I don’t know why, but “ass farts” at 17:44 made me laugh harder than I should’ve 😂 Nice exploring Brennen!
Bowling alley and gym flooring are sought after. Very hard wood. Perhaps the floors of the bowling alley were scrapped.
The change of scene before and after give me goosebump and sadness😢
Great to see another amazing video!
Great video my friend, any videos in the future with Dan or Rick miss you guys working together…
Shoutout the those Memorex 5 1/4 Floppy Disks! You guys stay rot-free and keep on to your data!
Born and raised in Hamilton it’s a shame this mall is abandoned like that with all the homelessness going on they should be using it for that purpose. Love your videos
redevelopment on this place is "on pause" for the foreseeable future as the developer doesn't want to do anything with it while housing interest rates are high. With the homeless problem in Hamilton I'm honestly surprised you didn't come across anyone while in there as it's a known place for people to "live".
Wow what a find. Thank you for posting this relic. I shoulda hit up Hamilton when I was around 🥲 haha. The fridge door openings for the old skool fans lol. Hope you’re doing good Brennen ❤ cheers bro
Idont know how you find your way back out of those massive buildings,
You should've taken a bite 16:15. Shame on you for not doing it 🙄😒
That transition at 0:31 is phenomenal
I hope those bullets weren't used for shooting at something unearthly…
❤❤❤❤
This mall looked like luxury its so sad that they just abandon this beautiful mall thats just waste
That 90s vibe — all that white and grey — really makes the mall look cold and uninviting, except for the would-be bowling alley, which is just plain sad, as it was somebody's dream business. Great job on another very compelling video, Brenn!
Where is Hamilton City Center Mall? New to this channel and it is so interesting!!
Luckily, I've gotten into the habit of searching for your channel occasionally as YouTube refuses to tell me whenever you upload a video. So glad you're back, you are one of my favourite URBEX channels. Will you be continuing the 'Alone' series? If not I completely understand, I imagine an Alone episode is quite emotionally draining to film.
Now I know there is at least one place I can stay on the cheap if I want to visit Hamilton. Maybe catch a Ti-Cats game or something.
Thank you Brennen, I enjoyed your video!❤
5:08 The pieces of bikes indicates drug thief’s and squatters. Likely stolen and someone is stashing them here until they can or need to sell them for drug money. Also, it’s been ransacked and stuff all over the floor indicates the same; they’re looking for anything to sell for drugs. The shell casings could also be from them if they’re hiding lots of stolen stuff there or drugs.
Bright Sun Films made a video about it over 4 weeks ago. But man its even in a worse shape whenever those guys explored this place.
Hey Buddy when's the next solo overnighter!!
The stairs are paralleled like that to be able to get more people out faster in an emergency.
Jake W? Hey! I know (of) that guy!
The intro was amazing, especially the transition from open but empty to abandoned! ❤
Did alex baldwin go in there with guns blazing again…with live ammo
4:14 do not fear, they are blank rounds (:
why do abandoned buildings always have electrcity?
The emergency exit stairs that skip every other floor are very common in high rise buildings. As a fire escape they basically double the capacity of a stairwell. At the bottom floor the stairwell doors will usually be marked "Even floors" and "Odd floors" for the fire dept so we knows which stairwell to use to get to the involved floor.
It's always annoying to me that the Americans give the town or city, but never the damned state. I live in the UK, it would be nice to have an actual location to have in mind. What astounds me about this mall is that there was so much food left behind and yet the place is not crawling with cockroaches. I'm impressed.
You guys are SO YOUNG! It's funny watching you trying to finger out what old stuff is. That abandoned house from the 80s, a year ago is the video I just watched. I remember when all that was new technology. Thanks for the laughs! Brennan, I know you from working with Dan Bell and Rick Serra. Keep up the good work guys!
