Don Det & Don Khon: 4000 Island PARADISE in LAOS 😍

Today we’re going to explore what island life is like here in Laos so this is absolutely stunning literally the real life Jungle Book is happening right now beautiful beautiful chill Island vibes go on show us how fast

You can go go on go on go on now you might be thinking Island life Laos is landlocked country well you are correct however right down in the South there’s a place called The 4,000 Islands which is loads of islands on the Mekong River

And we are about to head to Don Det so we’re actually at the ferry place now I don’t know what boat we’re getting on not 100% sure what we’re doing but we’ve got a ticket and waiting to cross but really excited to see what it’s

Like when we first chose to come to Laos I definitely was not expecting to get a f that’s for Sure so off we went on our tiny boat jammed high with bags and people I honestly thought one gust of wind and we were going over as we pulled into dond we got a first glimpse of what the island was going to be

Like helping us stock with two young kids who jumped in the water grabbed the rope and pulled us to shore bless them they then proceeded to do belly flops in the water next to the boat as we got off freedom and joy at its Finest disaster strikes number one G has booked the wrong month for the place he were supposed to be at and they’ve got no room so we’re now wandering the streets trying to find the guest house we in in six months that’s the first time this

Has happened yeah yeah yeah it’s easily done like we booked so much accommodation but yeah now we’re just trying to good job good job I booked it on free canellation as well so we won’t lose any money yeah yeah yeah but quick

Google now we’re walking to our accommodation looking back to where we were oh really right in the center yeah we are starving at this point but it looks so cool first impressions are it’s way it’s not what I was expecting

Reminds me of Ry Beach yes yes exactly like that proper Island Vibes there’s a walking Street there’s loads of cool shops loads of kids run running around playing it’s got a really good vibe straight away but we’ll show you after we’ve checked

In look into the room right yes pleas yes pleas how many days you stay here two two okay we can’t we have room about one room but 29 okayy oh there a double here guys oh this is nice well that was pretty easy we’ve settled on sukang Sunset Bungalows which

Is 300,000 kit per night but it’s beautiful apparently the sunset’s right here out on the river we’ve got a hammock some outdoor seats and the room’s lovely we’ve got three beds so yeah maybe we worked out in the end

That we ended up doing the wrong booking but yeah we’re very happy now I need to explore and show you all of the island just surrounded by by views like every side it’s like it’s like there’s like 4,000 little Islands instead of one

But yeah it’s pretty really good first impression so far but now we need to test out the next to the river yeah yeah so we just stopped at a restaurant called Green Paradise essentially due to the Views here on the

River but I was just saying to Abby I think every restaurant has these views here it feels a little bit deserted but very chilled at the moment good thank you that is love is what we call progress how how [Music] much 17 ,000 for a bike for the day and

We’ll hire him on try go on Haven Road Bike in many years come on hang on yeah okay okay okay so one of the top things to do in tomte hopefully we don’t see an accident behind us I can see Abby just getting her sea legs oh crap on her

Bike but yeah one of the best things to do in this island is essentially just to rent a bicycle and explore so that is what we’re going to do today yeah careful what do you mean I am [Music] careful right side of the road remember you’ve got a dog chasing

You not chasing like following you [Music] nicely hello so we cycled through the main walking Street filled with little cafes bars souvenir shops and small convenience stores this place has such a quaint feel to it as we got to a fork in the road we

Decided to take the scenic route yeah it’s cool isn’t it it’s like a it’s like you know like a country cycle path in the UK isn’t it so this is absolutely stunning we’re essentially just cycling right the way through the country Fields

There’s loads of bloody cows we’ve seen a duck we’ve seen a goat we’ve seen a pig it’s absolutely stunning this is and we’re cycling like amongst all the rice pades on our way to our first stop of our tour so we got a cute little Temple

Here just in the middle of the rice patties like G said so it’s just popped up out of nowhere it looks abandoned though doesn’t it or does it look like doing work to it I maybe call it rustic I’m not sure if it’s abandoned I don’t

Think they abandoned temples oh it looks looks rustic do you know what I love love being on the back of a motorbike but something is quite fun about being able to like just ride a bike isn’t there through the countryside look at this see someone’s just shouting at us

We don’t know what they’re saying and we’re just chilling it’s beautiful beautiful beautiful chilled Island V go on show us how fast you can go go on go on go [Music] on whoa here’s the old meon Delta which is

Where the FL this is BU bumped into me where all the 4,000 islands are obviously based on but it’s actually massive and this is the main bridge that conect D de to Don [Music] K we pulled up to lefi Waterfall which literally as we were driving in there’s

Tons of tourist fans driving past us there’s loads of bikes here so we were really shocked cuz like judging by the field of this town and the islands we thought it would just be like rocking up to a random waterfall rather than being a tourist attraction hello should we get a cold

Drink and an ice cream or not so you get ice cream drinks and a cup with ice so it is 60,000 Kip oh no that’s two people so it’s 30,000 Kip per person as we ventured into the waterfall it was clear that even though it was a popular

Attraction it still had its rustic Lan charm with its wooden bridges and no handrails [Music] pretty cool isn’t it very uh treacherous waterfall with lots of jagged rocks but yeah pretty cool can’t really see a lot from the viewing platform though can you

There like loads of trees and stuff so I know how we will uh get to see a bit better [Music] [Music] they’re building like Zip Line a zip line and bridges I think it’s already been built but it looks like they’re

Putting like new lines in and stuff look yeah it be quite cool to zip line across this one yeah any waterfalls in L there’ll be a zip line you watch the space so just over that ledge go straight down into the depths of the

Water so it’s proper proper intense and heavy this waterfall probably the most heaviest there’s not the right way to describe it but you know like powerful waterfall we’ve ever seen however in this area you can go on a day trip and

Visit the largest waterfall in Asia however we don’t have much time here slash our visas are running out so we’re not going to do that but if you were interested and you want to see something even bigger and more intense than this

One then there is a day trip you can do after exploring the waterfall surroundings for an hour we stumbled upon the designated swimming area to our surprise it appeared to have been taken over by a particular animal now some

People may think that this is weird but how many of you can say you swam with water buffalos because I can make sure you hit the Subscribe button if you’re enjoying the video so far it really helps us out literally the real life Jungle Book is happening right now that girl

Swinging on the rope swing with the water buffalo the locals are super friendly here it’s been had lots of smiles and waves today so we’re going to head back now as we’ve heard the sunset’s are meant to be

Absolutely magical here we was going to find a bar until I see wait wait for this Abby I’m going to spin it into a positive I accidentally booked hotel for the wrong month so which now means we’ve got a place right on the side of the ri

The river that the sun sets so I think we’ll get some nice drinks and chill there for sunset [Music] Island life down to a tea right now Island life down to a tea with sum’s bee yeah just s chilling watching the sunset

And what I’d say about this island here in l oh there’s a cat as well hello what to say about this island here as well is it seems to be run by the kids all I’ve seen is the kids just running around having the time of their

Life and it’s been so epic when we cycl back watching that so and cats apparently [Music] hello So the plan was to take you out that evening and we did but honestly there was nothing to even show it was

Pure Island Vibes to the Max a couple of people in a few restaurants and the locals just going about their evening routine as we drove through on our bikes it was cool to see how they unwind lazing in a hammock 10 kids crowded

Around the TV and it felt wrong to film so you just have to come and experience it yourself this is the end of our L Series I have to say the country really did surprise us we were surprised to see how tasty the food was no one seems to

Be talking about it but the Lan food was delicious we were really surprised by just how relaxed it was it has that reputation but the vibe it has is really hard to comprehend until you were here so quiet and peaceful which is also

Reflected from the friendly locals it was truly a beautiful country and one where we felt relaxed and safe to travel if you’re thinking about coming to La we would strongly recommend it as a country especially if it’s your first time in Asia thanks for watching this series next upop we’re heading to Cambodia

Which I’m sure will have lots of surprises for us too you eat do you eat it all the whole thing in one
