Hello! This is E-Ma. Continuing from last time, I am coming to Ie Island. We are about to move on to the next sightseeing spot. You can ride around the island on an assisted bicycle (*’▽’). Just cycling along the quiet roads is soothing (´ー｀). I was running leisurely and enjoying the scenery…
It was surprisingly far from the next tourist spot, so I was running fast (;ﾟДﾟ). Even with an assisted bicycle, if you continue to climb uphill, your legs will be damaged (;´･ω･). We finally arrived at [Yuude Observation Deck]. We both did our best~ヾ(≧▽≦)ﾉ. “Gushing (waji)”. “Yudate” refers to spring water.
This is the northwestern part of Ie Island. This is a place where fresh water gushes out from the beach beneath a cliff that is over 60 meters high. It is said that it was once an important water source that supported the lives of the islanders.
Currently, water is supplied by submarine water conveyed from the main island. Even now, the spring water is still used as drinking water. Apparently, the colorful Ie soda uses high-quality spring water. Let’s have a drink later (´ー｀). It takes about 5 minutes by bicycle from the waji Observation Deck.
I went out on a long straight road. This road is the former site of the U.S. military’s Iejima Auxiliary Airfield runway. It is now the site of an unused runway, so you can walk through it freely. It’s a runway, so it’s really long (^_^;). The road is straight for about 2km.
And as you can see, the road is rickety. The concrete has peeled off and looks like a gravel road. It’s a great vibration. The screw of the camera attached to my bicycle came loose. Before I knew it, this happened…(;”∀”).
I didn’t expect the road to be this rough, so cycling was a failure (>_<). If you want to take this road, I recommend a car (^▽^;). I made a lot of mistakes in my time allocation on this island trip. I'm flying to the next sightseeing spot (^▽^;). Since it was downhill, it felt like a roller coaster (ﾟ∀ﾟ). Arrived at [Nyatiya Cave (Nyatiyagama)]. Nyatiya Cave was used as an air raid shelter during the war and saved many lives. It is also called ``Senningama'' because it is very spacious inside and accommodated many residents. This is a sacred place and a place to pray. We will observe quietly without making any noise. Nyatiya Cave is also a power spot. Legend has it that if a woman who is not blessed with children lifts up the ``Vigil stone'' in the cave, she will be blessed with a child. It is said that if the stone you lift is heavy, you will be blessed with a boy, and if it is light, you will be blessed with a girl. Heart ♡. This is also a popular spot for taking great photos. If the weather is better, it would be a wonderful place where you can see the blue sea stretching out beyond your heart (´ー｀). It's the last spurt (｀・ω・´). The last tourist spot is [GI Beach]. It is a natural beach with untouched nature. The sand here is also very white and beautiful (´ー｀). I'm so happy that the two of us can occupy such a wonderful beach (*'▽'). The plan was to relax here at the end, but... It's almost time for the ferry (;´･ω･). I'm sorry to leave you behind, but I have to hurry to Ie Port. It was my first time to cycle around while traveling. It seems like I packed too much into my schedule (;´･ω･). Along the way, I felt quite rushed. I'm glad I was able to visit all the places I wanted to go (´ー｀). What I'm worried about is tomorrow's muscle pain (;´･ω･). I returned the bicycle and returned to Ie Port. I will buy some souvenirs before boarding the ferry. When it comes to souvenirs from Ie Island, it's ``Kekkun.'' Crispy chips made with wheat from Ie Island. Of course, I also bought Ie soda (´ー｀). The ferry home is coming. I decided to drink Ie soda while looking at the sea of Ie Island before heading home. We are setting sail. The stay was 7 hours. The island is so full of charm that a day trip is not enough. Ie Island was the best (´ー｀). Thank you (^o^)丿. It seems like a lily festival will be held at Lilyfield Park from late April to Golden Week, so I'd like to visit during that time next time (*'▽'). I say goodbye to Tatchu (´；ω；`). I'll come again~(;_;)/~~~. Pass through Sesoko Ohashi Bridge. Motobu Port is right there. Arrived. I rode my bicycle all day today. I also climbed Tatchu. Although I'm quite tired... I will fulfill the promise I made on my last trip to Okinawa. I came to [21st Century Forest Beach] in Nago City. I made an appointment with the volunteer I met here last time who was feeding the cats. There are many cats here. I'm always hungry. Please feed them even if only when they come on a trip. At that time, I promised that I would definitely come back. Please eat a lot (´ー｀). No matter where you walk in the park, cats will approach you. I thought I had brought a lot of food, but... There were so many cats that I could only feed them little by little. The sun has also set. I would like to go back to the hotel and relax in preparation for tomorrow.
