メイプル耶馬サイクリングロード🚲🍁/耶馬溪鉄道跡を辿る自転車旅🚞/廃線に想いを馳せながら、折りたたみ自転車でのんびりサイクリング✨/ 自転車のある旅。
A cycling road located in Nakatsu City, Oita Prefecture. This place was used as a railway in the past. There are many abandoned railway lines in Japan. There is also a road maintained as a cycling road. Yabakei, a huge area within Nakatsu City, is covered by impressive and beautiful nature.
This railway was once used by many people as a tourist train. Unfortunately, the line has been discontinued. It has now been developed as a cycling road. I will be cycling along this road. I think it’s a great experience to be able to cycle along roads that were once used as railways.
There are remains of the tunnel where the train ran. I drive along this road, imagining the scenery of the past. I feel the flow of time. I stop at tourist attractions. This place was built by a priest over 30 years. I felt the priest’s compassion.
Cycling right next to the valley. I am very impressed by the wonderful scenery. I feel like I’m traveling through time on my bike. It’s my first time to see this place, but it feels like I’ve seen it somewhere before. Perhaps this view is connected to my memory.
I’m sure my mind is traveling through memory. I feel that this is not just a journey, but a journey of the soul. The purpose of the trip doesn’t have to be clear. You’ll understand what I mean when you travel. This tunnel has traces of a railway.
Pass through several tunnels. I imagine the view on the other side of the tunnel. People in the past would have seen this view from the train window. I arrived at the cycling terminal. I turn back the way I came. The gradual descent is a pleasant feeling.
There are several shops and government offices in this area. A small town is located in the mountains. There is also a library, which is very nice. It looks like it’s going to rain, so I’m in a bit of a hurry. I can’t take it easy. However, I will take pictures of this scenery.
The wind has gotten stronger. It looks like it’s going to rain. It’s probably going to rain. I have to find a place to take shelter from the rain as soon as possible. It started to rain. I hurry to the roadside station. I wait for the rain to stop while eating soba.
The rain stopped soon. The blue sky is spreading. I will start again on my bicycle. There was a place I was interested in, so I decided to go down . The water flowing through the valley goes far away. The water flowing through the valley is powerful.
I also want to have a strong heart. However, I try to live my life in my own way. I look at the scenery from the opposite bank. Today’s memories are precious to me. It was a wonderful bicycle trip. It’s an important memory for me. I am grateful for this day.

大分県中津市に位置する「メイプル耶馬サイクリングロード」を旅した記録。
山間を貫く沿線、緩やかなカーブと列車幅ほどの狭いトンネル。
いつの日か観光列車の車窓だった景色を、自転車から眺めてゆっくり漕ぐ。
単なる旅ではなく、心の旅をしているような素敵な自転車旅でした。

10月下旬の九州自転車旅の一番の目的は、耶馬溪鉄道跡を自転車で駆けることでした。
とても素敵な自転車道で、心底行って良かったと思いました。

【メイプル耶馬サイクリングロード🍁】
大分県中津市にある日本新三景に選定された耶馬溪にあるサイクリングロード。
観光列車として人々を魅了させた耶馬溪鉄道は、高度経済成長のマイカーブームの影響で1973年に全線配線となりその役目を終えた。
そして、1982年に耶馬溪鉄道廃線跡を利用した自転車道として整備され、現在に至る。
