Vol.73

Good morning! This is E-Ma. When you open the curtains, you can see the sea! It’s the best location (´ー`). This is the first part of the second day of our 3-night, 4-day trip to Okinawa. Today I’m going to go to a lot of sightseeing places for the first time (*’▽’).

For breakfast, I went to the cafe [mokulele] next to the hotel. It’s so colorful and cute that I can’t wait to enter the store from the stairs (´ー`). It’s really cute ♡ I received permission to take photos and was able to take pictures inside the store. A stylish Hawaiian cafe near the hotel.

I’m really happy that it’s open from 7am (´ー`). Eat breakfast on the terrace! French toast 900 yen. Top with plenty of syrup. We had a delicious meal while looking at a wonderful view (*’▽’). The sea in front of the hotel is very beautiful. I could see the fish so clearly even from above.

Today’s sightseeing starts. The forecast was for sunshine, but it turned cloudy (;・∀・). Okinawa’s weather changes often. Weather forecasts are unreliable. Today is the main event of this trip. I’m going to [Ie Island] so I hope it’s sunny. Park your car at the parking lot at [Motobu Port].

Tickets for the ferry to Ie Island can only be purchased on the day. Advance reservations are required if you wish to bring a vehicle. Round trip: 1,390 yen for adults. Child 710 yen. It’s a big ferry. Hand over your ticket at the entrance and go inside. There is also a shop on board.

There are also places where you can lie down. table seat. There’s plenty of seating too. There were also chairs and tables outside. We set sail exactly at 9 o’clock. It’s a 30 minute boat trip from now on (´ー`). I’m off! that···. My field of vision is getting narrower and narrower…

And I couldn’t see anything (;´・ω・). In June, I went to Tokashiki Island, and this time I went to Ie Island. I never thought I would go on a cruise twice a year. Okinawa has such a beautiful ocean, which makes boat trips so much fun. Pass through Sesoko Ohashi Bridge.

The sun also came out (*’▽’). “Tatchu”, which I had always seen from a distance, came into view closer. “Tatchu” means “pointed” and is a nickname for Shiroyama. We will soon arrive at [Ie Port]. The color of the sea is so beautiful (*’▽’). Landing on Ie Island! “Ie Island Hanikusuni.” “Hanikusuni” means “beach station”.

Ie Island’s image character “Tachun” welcomes you (´ー`). There was also “Iejima Wagyu beef” (*’▽’). You can rent a bicycle from [TM Planning] located right behind the terminal . Using the pair discount, it was 4000 yen for two devices used in one day. Then let’s leave!

Ie Island has a circumference of approximately 22.75 km. First of all, it is the symbol of the island. We will run towards [Shiroyama], which is called “Iejima Tatchu”. The road to “Tacchu” continues with a gentle uphill slope. Bicycles with assist are good.

The woman who was riding in front of me got off her bike and started walking. I’m glad it came with an assist (≧▽≦). [Remains of a public pawnshop]. Ie Island’s buildings were burned down during World War II. It is the only building left. The remains of countless shells are still visible.

A war that should never happen again. When I see these historical sites, it hits home all over again. The southern trailhead is now in sight. Bicycles cannot go up to the upper parking lot where the Shiroyama trailhead is located. Park at the bicycle parking lot and walk up from the south trailhead.

“Shiroyama South Trailhead.” Stairs with no end in sight (´・ω・`). A staircase with no goal in sight, no matter how hard you climb it. I’m sure if I turn this curve! …The stairs continue even after turning.

When I turned around, I saw that I had climbed so high that I could see the ocean in the distance. And finally we arrived at the parking lot. But this is not the goal (;´・ω・). There is a legend that remains in Shiroyama.

Once upon a time, there was a giant man named Tannapa (Chikara). When an army invaded the island, they threw large stones from Shiroyama to protect the island and its people. It is said that on the top of Shiroyama, there are footprints left on the ground that were left when stones were thrown.

Let’s go take a look! “Shiroyama trailhead”. First, we will walk along a path that resembles a promenade. After walking for a while, the stairs came into view. “Trail”. “Tacchu” is approximately 172m above sea level. From the trailhead, you will have to climb a total of 291 steps.

It is a mountain that is not high at all. Unlike normal mountain climbing, there are almost only stairs. My heart rate increases considerably (;・∀・). 10 minutes of climbing the stairs while sweating profusely. We have finally reached the top ヽ(^o^)丿. This is the footprint of “Chikaratanapa”.

Will it become a legend if we also leave “E-Ma’s footprints”? ( ̄▽ ̄). You can see the entire Ie Island 360 degrees. Truly a spectacular view! It was difficult to come this far, but I’m really glad I came (*’▽’). “Tacchu” is made of rugged rock.

It seems that it was raised due to the “off-scrape phenomenon”, which is rare in the world. A pleasant wind is blowing. I watched the scenery for about an hour. I think you came at just the right time seasonally. The view was so good that I felt a little scared going down.

Unlike the ascent, the descent felt instantaneous. There was also a souvenir shop and a rest area near the parking lot. Hurry up. As we head towards the sea, we continue downhill this time. It feels good (*’▽’). Arrived at [Ie Beach]. Facility usage fee: 100 yen for adults. Children 50 yen.

You can go to the beach by bicycle. There was also a campsite on the right. The beach is now in sight. It’s getting cloudy again (´・ω・). Even if it’s cloudy, it’s still beautiful (*’▽’). but…. For those of us who have exhausted our physical strength, food is better than the sea! [Taste shop Nishinsuni].

Soki soba 990 yen. Okinawa soba 770 yen. Kuwacchi Sabira(*’▽’) noodles are smooth and chewy. The bonito stock tastes good. It’s my first time to eat such big meat (´ー`). And even bigger Soki ( ゚Д゚). It was soft and delicious (*’▽’).

When I looked at it up close, it was very clear and the sea was really beautiful. It’s December, but with this weather, I might have been in the sea. In fact, some young people were in the sea wearing swimsuits (*´艸`). The beautiful swing on the beach was broken (´・ω・)

Although it is a beach where snorkeling is not allowed, it is a beach that I would like to visit again in the summer. The next article will be the second part of the 3-night, 4-day trip to Okinawa. I hope this video is of some help to you.
