FRONTEIRA DESERTA entre Chile x Argentina – EL CALAFATE de MOTO – RUTA 40 [USHUAIA] – S8/EP11

Hey guys, Thiago speaking, starting another video for the channel, directly here from Chile, I’m in Puerto Natales, at the Donde e Kike hostel. If you’ve just arrived at this channel, this is a trip that I left from São Paulo and went to Ushuaia and now I’m coming back

Along spectacular paths. Today’s idea is to leave Porto Natales and go to Torres del Pine, cross a frontier called Dom Guilhermo, which has an off-road section, get onto route 40 in Argentina and continue on to El Calafate, which is where there are those sensational glaciers, which you may have seen in other videos,

Called Perito Moreno. Look who’s watching me fix the bike. No jumping, no jumping… you can’t wind it up, right… Is it 20,000 pesos? Beautiful day!! It cost! The tire in the morning has a 30 front, 36 rear calibration, because of the cold, then when

It goes out on the road, it goes to 41. So now it’s 8:30, in Argentina it’s 9:30, there’s an hour less here, temperature of 4 degrees. We will then head towards El Calafate through the Don Guilhermo pass.

Look at those mountains in the background. I’m going to take this opportunity and thank you for this opportunity to be making this trip, and of course, ask for God’s protection for today . Fuel up and not worry about gas today. Petrobras Post.

I’m going to spend the 15… I think I have 20,000 Chilean pesos here, I don’t even know if I’ll be able to fill my tank with that. Today’s forecast is 270-280 km. Remembering guys, if you want to become a member of the

Channel, to help the channel, as a reward I make all videos available in advance for channel members. And if you can’t, just watching, leaving your like and a comment helps me a lot too. 3 degrees guys, 3 degrees and this beautiful image in

Front, I don’t know if the camera has the resolution for you to see those mountains in the background, sensational thing. 1.5 degree. And look at those mountains, those farms, those little sheep… Shall we go trout fishing? Trout feeds in ice water, doesn’t it? Look at that beautiful lake for fishing…

Calm waters… there are some ducklings… Keep looking at the lake and you don’t see the Thiago curve, very well… very well…. It’s not windy today, folks, what good thing! At least so far, and Windy’s forecast is that there is no wind today, at least not as intense.

I arrived here at Cerro Castilho, it’s very close to the border, now I have to spend the 6,000 pesos I have here. I’ll stop by the convenience and get a coffee. My 6,000 Chilean pesos turned into something like this and one more hot chocolate… look outside…

This is Don Guilhermo pass, the bike is down here. The customs of Chile successfully completed, the exit…. the exit is quick… Now we head here to the Argentine side. It’s paved all the way to the border, then there’s about 9-10 km of dirt until you reach Rua 40.

It was even hot after the hot chocolate I had. And we’re arriving in Argentina… End of pavement. He finished. Welcome to the Republic of Argentina. Thanks! It’s here… Don Guilhermo. Gendarmerie control. I think that’s where it stops…. I’ll stop here… I’ll stop here in front. Puppy…

Everything ready to go on the trip, it was a quick procedure here. Look at the dog… It won’t bite me… are you crazy? And here I am again! There’s another 6 km of dirt road up to Rua 40,

And then there’s another stretch of 60 km of gravel, which is on Ruta 40 itself, so you don’t have to go to Esperanza, which would increase the traffic a lot. mileage. And to El Calafate 208 km. Estimated arrival around 2 pm. And that’s it, asphalt again.

The famous route 40. The gas station is 40 km from here. Now 40 km of asphalt and then another 60 km of gravel. Then the asphalt returns. And here is the gas station and the junction to take 40 or Esperanza.

He has a gas station, he has a motorcycle. We’re just going there to film… Then I’ll take 40, I won’t even fill up here, because there’s no need. Good morning! Quiet! KM 0 of Ruta 40 is not on….. Don’t have a stranded boat? No, not this one. Isn’t it km zero?

In Punta Loyola? This is the old zero kilometer. Oh, there’s another one… Guys, there’s a gas station here at the fork in Route 40… Full of stickers. Is it closed today? It’s closed? For information, the gas station here, which is famous in the photos, is closed.

So you have to calculate the autonomy of your motorcycle to come here. And then continue the journey. I hadn’t seen that view of those mountains, I’ve come from there to here. Now follow Ruta 40. There’s an Argentine friend too, who’s taking a trip here along Ruta 40.

Here I’m entering the offroad with 111 km on the bike’s odometer. Let’s see… I think it’s about 60 km. If I went on asphalt, I’d drive a hundred or so km. A lake, is it frozen over? I don’t think so, but let’s see…. I don’t reach down to pick up a rock.

I reached. It’s frozen! Let’s get out of the way… I was talking to the Argentine, and from El Calafate to the Glacial, it’s 100 Km. So tomorrow, I’ll probably do 100 km to get to the Glacial, and another 100 to get back. I thought it was close.

My camera died. It was held by the string. Caught by the rope. This one held up, it held up a lot until it broke… I have another cover, I’ll fix it later. Let’s move on, for now with one less camera. You will not see my face.

Look at the car convoy kicking up dust. Good morning! Beauty? Can you pass, are you okay? Well, thanks… I’m not taking sheep… Bye. I’ll see if my luggage didn’t fall. I stopped here to change the camera battery. I drove 20 km. The road is bad, lots of stones. Big Rock.

You have to walk upright, otherwise the chance of falling is great. I’m going to this side, it’s better… Here it was good. Now there are sheep and guanaco. I arrived here on the asphalt, the bike’s odometer reads 175 km, it started with 111 km.

64 km of gravel, that last part was a little better. Hitting some asphalt now… 6 degrees, but now I’m hot, there’s no wind… Wow, when the bike is on the asphalt after an OffRoad it feels like silk. They jump over that fence like it’s nothing…

1:45 pm, blue sky, this sun… it’s 3 degrees. I’m on Ibuprofen, my throat has gone into space… I come from Puerto Natales, I’m from Brazil. Goodbye. She spoke in English to me… Do I look like a gringo? (laughs)

Before arriving in the city, I’ll stop at this gas station here, if there’s a place to eat, I’ll eat something… Give it a warm one too. Broken cover comes out, new cover comes in. New life…. I’m going to pull the lifesaving cord…

Guys, look at the coincidence, the guy is practically my neighbor in São Paulo, we met in Ushuaia, and now I’m here in El Calafate, I’m eating my lunch, look there for the gas pump… and who’s filling it up? The Roberto! If it had combined, it wouldn’t work, see.

I already fixed your neck, you fell… new neck. Now I’m going to look for a hotel. This one is the center of El Calafate. Too fancy! I have to come in here. Hey, what’s up? Pleasure to meet you. Hey how’s it going? Pleasure Thiago. I thought you were already far away…

We are very slow, and there is no delay… It’s just that when I was coming down, I saw you at the camp in Toluin… It’s just that we went close to Torres del Pine,

There’s a guy over there where I got stuck in the pandemic. And then we stayed there for almost a week. Bye guys! I’ll see this one… Hello. Do you have a place for one person? Private. How much does it cost? 16,000 Argentine pesos.

So guys, I got here at the hostel, this here is a hostel called blah blah some… Blah Guest House, here I got it for 27,000 pesos, which is about 168 reais a day, to be able to stay here, it’s a tourist town, but it’s one of the cheapest

I’ve found here. So I’m going to unload things here, tomorrow I’m still thinking about which tour I’m going to take, if I’m just going to observe glaciers, if I’m going on a tour that has to walk there… Guys, finishing today’s video here, with the presence of “oreia seca” and Roberto…

I’m speechless, I won’t be able to say much here, if you liked today’s video, leave a like, if not subscribe subscribe, and if you do not know a channel of these two here, what is the name of the channel? Baita Role, look at the motorcycle they are traveling on…. The “oreiuda”.

But maybe when you watch this video of mine, there will be other things happening on their channel. Personal beauty! Okay, I went….

No meu caso, tenho 1,72m. Mas estou com 93kg, portanto, acima do peso. Por isso fica difícil acertar na compra.

  4. Excelente viagem Thiago. Estou pegando muitas dicas.

  5. Me planejando aqui pra fazer Mg -> Foz do iguaçu a bordo da minha tenere 250 2017 com a inspiraçao do noronha !!! Videos sempre incriveis, ser humano visivelmente fantastico!!!

    Forte abraço !
