The Orthodox Christians of Nigeria | Full Documentary
Witness the riveting story of the rise of Orthodox Christianity in the southern part of Nigeria in this new documentary film by the director of last year’s The Little Convent.
For years, a man named Stephen Tema, together with hundreds of others whom he converted to Orthodox Christianity, waited for a Hierarch to come to Nigeria to Baptize the Faithful and to Ordain clergymen for them. In the meantime, Stephen was arrested, beaten, and rejected by nearly all of his friends and family for preaching Orthodox Christianity. He continued to pray for a Hierarch to come, until one day—against all odds—his prayer was answered.
In this story of sacrifice, betrayal, loss, and triumph, you will see the ups and downs of the Orthodox Christian missionary endeavor in Africa’s largest populated country.
When the news of what was happening in Nigeria began to spread, Orthodox Christian communities from around the world came together to support the hundreds of Faithful living there. Thank you to all those who supported this worthy cause.
Words cannot express how thankful we are to all those who helped make it possible to complete this documentary and to show this film to the whole world! Without your prayers and support, it wouldn’t be possible for the Seminary to produce projects like this.
All that being said, the Seminary invites you to be transported to the land of Nigeria and to experience the incredible journey of the Orthodox Christians of Nigeria.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. May God bless and multiply the Orthodox Church in Nigeria. May god bless Father Stephen and his disciples. May God bless Bishop Maximus and the wonderful people that joined him in this missionary activity. May God bless the film maker, the one who shares this joy with us, small children of the Orthodox Church in the world.

The act of selfless love that Christ calls us for is perfectly shown here. May God continue to protect and strengthen Metropolitian Demetrius, Bishop Maximus, Fr. Parthenios, Fr. Stephen and everyone involved, and with the help of all our collective prayers, may they continue to grow the ministry and help more souls. I want to share just one of the many sincerely heartfelt moments that was very striking for me, when Bishop Maximus said, "How can a person say that the salvation of a soul is not worth it?! How can one say that?!"
🕊🙏🏼🕯☦️❤️
