First-time New Zealand Motorbike Touring from Japan_04: Exploring the hilly city of Dunedin

March 2, 2024 (Saturday) – Second Half of New Zealand Touring Day 2

Leaving the round stones of Moeraki Beach, we head towards Dunedin.
Along the way, the wind changes from cold to warm…
It’s one of the great things about biking 🏍️

Riding at 100 km/h through breathtaking scenery is something you don’t experience in Japan, so it felt amazing💕

Today’s accommodation is in Dunedin.
It’s a city I’ve been really looking forward to because it has so many attractions.
You can also enjoy Larnach Castle and penguin tours a bit outside of town.
However, the hills are so steep that we decided to give up on traveling by bike and explore the city on foot instead.

Dunedin, founded by Scottish immigrants, is a city that thrived during the gold rush.
It has many beautiful buildings that have preserved the prosperity of that time.

I gazed at the church and Dunedin Railway Station with a sigh.

If I get another chance to go to NZ, I think it would be great to explore each town in detail 😊
