Unseen Japan: A Journey into the Nation’s Most Dangerous District
Join me as I explore Nishinari, Osaka’s most notorious district, often dubbed Japan’s “most dangerous” neighborhood. In this video, we dive deep into the area’s rich and complex history, from its Showa era roots to the riots that have shaped its reputation. Discover the influence of the yakuza and how the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower stands tall amidst this intriguing backdrop. While Nishinari’s past is filled with tumultuous events, I also shed light on why Japan remains one of the safest countries in the world today.
Whether you’re a history buff, a Japan enthusiast, or simply curious about the lesser-seen sides of this fascinating country, this video is for you. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more explorations of Japan’s unique neighborhoods.

And, you speak Japanese?
Great video! It was so quiet there. I felt like I had to whisper too. Love all of the information in your video. We noticed a lot of men as well. I didn't feel unsafe but also not as safe as we are now in a different neighborhood. Walking around with kids makes it different. If we were by ourselves, we would have stayed for sure!
Looks pretty peaceful and nice 🙂 Especially after all the horrors in Los Angeles.
This is a really well filmed video man! Keep doing what you do!
As someone who lives in Jamaica, that part of Japan would feel like an ordinary place to me.
You mentioned Amsterdam red light district. Will you be visiting that too?
Looks like a normal city with buildings side by side and residents going about their days. Driving through rural America on the other hand…
That is dangerous?? Makes my neighborhood that I live in look like paradise.
That’s not dangerous
Not unlike most of non-central Amsterdam. edit: yeah it's sure as shit a lot safer. Don' t be fooled by what kind of safety though, japans judicial system is notoriously unfair and not transparant. 99% conviction rate should raise immediate red flags.
No blacks
Still way way way safer than down town L.A. where I used to live
