I was interested to see what an old, historical road, Hokkoku Kaido 北国街道 is currently like. It generally looked as very modern as other Japanese places, yet a few traces from old world such as old temples, shrines, and houses can be seen alongside the road. This footage starts from Sinmeisya Shrine 神明社 and follows a part of Hokkoku Kaido towards Hachimanyama mountain 八幡山 (around 28:40) in Fukui city. Then we get off from Hokkoku Kaido and make a turn to explore the south east part of the city where mostly rice fields dominate.

鯖江市の歴史の道(北国街道)を、神明社より北上して福井市まで行きます。八幡山に到達したあとは、東へ向かってJR越美北線(九頭龍線)東郷駅まで行きます。
