【訪問! 峠の茶屋】 突然 山がなくなってる!?くりお峠へGo!【ロードバイク自転車旅】

"Hello," "This time as well, we’re going to explore the mountain pass We’re continuing our ride around Keihoku and Ohara. The area is located north of Kyoto city center. "we’ll cross Gyozakato Pass and Mochikoshi Pass," and head towards Kurio Pass along the Shuzan Highway. Let’s get started! I see a red flag ahead. "It says ""Kusamochi""." "During our pass tour, this is like a teahouse in the mountains." Let’s stop by. "Since we haven’t eaten anything since we left, we’re starting to get hungry." Let’s have some kusamochi and tea here. Just walking by it feels warm! "Speaking of winter comforts, it’s warm" No, it’s not. It’s an irori (sunken hearth)! around the hearth with mochi. It’s a wonderful combination!! Isn’t it amazing? “Can we eat here?” “We only offer takeout!” “You can eat it outside if you’d like!” “We only offer takeout!” It’s mochi!! It looks delicious!! Let’s give it a try. "It’s delicious! The thick, mildly sweet" anko with the faint aroma of kusamochi."It’s light, so you can easily eat several." Kusamochi and the charmingly arranged nandina berries are a winter delight. "Now, let’s head towards Kurio Pass." Alright, we continue our journey to conquer all the mountain passes nationwide. There is an app called "Tōgesen" which allows you to collect points at mountain passes across the country. The challenge is to visit all 1000 registered passes and document your journey to achieve nationwide domination. Now, we’ve arrived at the entrance of another pass. Let’s get started! The tunnel we just came through "is called Keihoku Tunnel, which serves as a bypass for Kurio Pass." It opened in 2014. "It’s 23km long, making it the longest tunnel" in Kyoto city."With this length," it’s no wonder it took a while to get through by bike. A 23km tunnel feels long. "After the tunnel opened, Kurio Pass ceased to function as a national road," and the northern part has been developed as a dedicated path for cyclists and pedestrians. "Even though it used to be a national road," "it’s quite steep," "narrow, and challenging." I can see a town in the distance. How is the view? "From here," it’s not very visible. There are stairs. What’s the view from Kurio Pass like? Can we climb up there? There’s a sign for a liquor store. "Local beer and sake, huh." "Again, the view from Kurio Pass." Huh? There are no trees!? The mountain is gone!! What on earth!? Is it a landslide? The road just barely remains. What happened? A fallen sign "Damage from Typhoon No. 21," I see. "Speaking of Typhoon No. 21," Speaking of which, there was a sign like this… Securing safe passage is difficult… Disaster recovery work? it was the one where a ship was blown into the Kansai Airport Access Bridge. "It’s been quite some time since then," but the restoration work signs "are still here, it seems." That was a terrible typhoon. "Here, the road is also crumbling." "Thanks to that, the visibility is great." It seems this is the pass. We’ve arrived at the goal of Kurio Pass. The pass level is here. "This time, the pass had an unexpected view." "If we had climbed from the south," the difference would have been more surprising. "The road itself isn’t bad, so" there’s no problem for cycling or anything else. "Rather, you get a surprising view!" Now, let’s go down. Actually, this view is more spectacular. Kurio Pass’s view has long been designated as one of Keihoku’s top ten views. Arrived at the original scenic point. Back to the entrance of the pass! Speaking of winter comforts, it’s a warm irori. I wanted to warm up while eating kusamochi at the teahouse… Was the large-scale landslide at Kurio Pass caused by Typhoon No. 21! This episode was packed with excitement! We’ll say goodbye here this time. See you at the next pass! Until then!
