Cycling Across Central Japan: Part 4

[Music] [Music] woo [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] okay so we’re in the side wagon this was an executive decision we made because it was raining in the morning and it only cleared up maybe about an hour ago so rather than slog it through wet roads that would probably have a lot of lorries and get drenched uh and arrive not in time for anything we decided let’s just do this uh so we’ve packed ourselves into the highest van of bikes all four of us and oh you can see my fry we’re going to get a better View later so enjoy the [Music] journey [Music] finally reach and just time for lunch [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Music] oh good morning I’m here in uh kucho and this is the beautiful Lake around me so I’m taking advantage of the fact that we are enjoying well a little bit of rest day yesterday because we got the van transfer and today so enjoying this morning spin around the lake and um it’s taking it easy before the long ride tomorrow [Music] [Music] what am I [Music] doing [Music] it’s so peaceful on this side if you’re a nature lover and you love camping Lake Cycle is where you want to be [Music] so I’m making my way around Lake psycho and this is definitely the uh the conservationist or the nature lovers um site actually uh it’s the preferred spot uh we’ve got a bat cave over here and then um not too far away is the nature uh the lake psycho Nature Center where you can learn about the uh local flora and fauna over here so if if I were to go camping um I think I would definitely pick this place there were so many campsites and I mean obviously they were all close I wasn’t just going to go barge in there and take a look and you know surprise sleeping people but um mental note future plan camping along here [Music] I’m just visiting at the the entrance of one of the campsites here this is Pika have a the long Fuji Lake psycho as you can see it’s pretty nice so if you want to go camping this is a pretty nice spot that’s the uh the guest house over there where you check in and you can see what the uh the rest of the campsite looks like it’s quite beautiful especially in Autumn because now you’ve got all the uh the red and yellow leaves of the maple trees and [Music] whatnot [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] uh this is [Music] the ooh I’m hoping that’s the least [Music] all right we’re ready to roll uh we’re going to head over to a breakfast spot in uh Fuji Yoshida and then it’s going to be another mountain pass or the day so let’s get to it wow my fui is shy [Music] today our front [Music] yep we keep [Music] going even before we hit 10 km it’s 12% I’m oh that was insane it was 177% for quite of it and now it’s finally tapering off to like 10 11 ah e it’s completely deflated good thing it didn’t happen when you were climbing I mean wait this is a mountain technically we’re at the top of a mountain yeah reinflated without a problem and it’s holding air we’re not hearing any air coming out and there’s no ejaculation as Maya calls it so hopefully the tire will hold we’ll find out [Music] so crazy clear just in case you were trying to make a wish yeah don’t do it here [Music] all right [Music] [Music] I [Music] [Music] clear [Music] all [Music] AP % well that explains the Descent this is a sadistic route but you know what you know what it’s because Tada can someone take a picture Tokyo Olympics a go re I should expect it but for some reason I [Music] don’t yeah okay work oh so CL like [Music] that we we are where are we right now we in Kai Kai like your too oh so it’s really dark even though it’s like 6:00 [Music] p.m. yay [Music] good morning it’s raining we are in Kamakura so the weather has finally caught up and here we all are yay and’s here and Mio’s here all right so we’re going to head to Kamakura and Kamakura stop along the way and find food and enjoy the rain the yeah enjo the rain all [Music] right so it’s pouring actually just started out as a very light drizzle and it’s pretty heavy now we can still ride because I’ve got my rain jacket most important thing two covers and the hey of fashion um so what we learned from the last tour is that you can have bombproof shoe cover but if you don’t wear them probably your feet will still get wet so shoe covers go underneath your babes like so so that it provides an airtight seal against your [Music] skin that’s um until she moved to Singapore so have to some work I I can’t explain it’s a vegetarian dish prepared by the shrine yeah it’s very traditional Temple Oh by Temple it smells very good smells very good good rain and sun I think the clouds are like [Music] [Music] patchy [Music] yeah well we made it we made it hotel is over there I think it is see that never all [Music] right I kind of [Music] figured [Music] [Music] oh [Music] look finish [Music] I [Music] oh oh [Music] remember first time we went I cannot see in the you back you buy bright light no right the light was not bright enough so almost [Music] [Music] almost [Music] yeah [Music] speee [Music] [Music] [Music] hungry a very [Music] busy [Music] f

Our journey across central Japan concludes in this final episode. We continue from Nirasaki to Fujikawaguchiko, where we enjoy a day of rest along with the beautiful views of Fujisan and the surrounding lakeside scenery. We then continue onwards to Oshino Hakkai, where we enjoy the views of crystal-clear waters from the snowmelt of Mount Fuji. Next, we continue our journey through Yamanakako and partially follow the Tokyo Olympics 2020 cycling route through Yamanashi prefecture and into Kagawa prefecture, ending with an overnight stay at Enoshima before finally completing our journey in Yokohama.

And when staying nearby Tokyo, a compulsory visit to Blue Lug is a must!

  1. Just came across your channel. Your videography and riding is mesmerizing. Incredible to watch! I'd be interested to know what kinda bikes your ride, since those rando-style steel frames are exactly my jam! 🙂

  2. Hi, really enjoyed watching this trip thanks.
What would you recommend this trip or Shikoku?
What about the bikes quite a different setup this time, these ones looked a bit heavier and cumbersome compared to your Shikoku trips.
Looking forward to your next trip.
