來宮神社について
來宮神社は、古くから来宮大明神と称し、熱海郷の地主の神であって来宮の地に鎮座し、来福・縁起の神として古くから信仰されています。

　平安初期の征夷大将軍坂上田村麻呂公は戦の勝利を神前で祈願し、各地に御分霊を祀ったとも伝えられ、現在では全国四十四社のキノミヤジンジャの総社として、信仰を集めております。
　御祭神五十猛命は熱海に鎮座される際、地元民と入来たる旅人を守護しようと神託をつげられたことから、伊豆に来る旅行者が多く参拝されます。
　国指定天然記念物に選定されております来宮神社のご神木「大楠」は樹齢2千年を超え、平成４年度の環境省の調査で、全国２位の巨樹の認定を受けており、幹周り約24米の迫力に人々は畏怖し、自然と手を合わせます。是非大楠に手を合わせ悠久の時の流れを感じてください。

熱海について
「熱海」と書いて、「あたみ」と読むこの地名の由来は、海中より温泉が凄まじく沸きあがり、海水がことごとく熱湯となったため、「あつうみが崎」と呼ばれ、それが変じて「あたみ」と称されるようになったと言われています。
