平泉で楽しむ雪と世界遺産☃️

Good morning! Day 2, in the morning. The forecast said it would rain, but look. It’s not raining yet. Good. I’m lucky. To make the most of the trip, I woke up at 6 this morning. I just went in the hot spring. I went twice last night, and once this morning, so 3 times in total. I love the hot spring here. I’m off to a good start. Let’s go! It’s a pretty old hotel, so the key looks like this and the lights go off when I take it out. I just checked out, and got a membership card of this hotel chain. They actually had a free shuttle to the station. I’m waiting for other passengers. I’m the only one at the moment. I made it to the station. I have a little less than an hour until the train, so I’ll go look for something to eat. I’m going to Hiraizumi today. What should I have for breakfast? I have no idea what this area is known for. I have no idea how to get to the other side of the station either. It kind of looked like I have to buy a ticket and go through the gate to the other side. What should I do? This is what it looks like around the station. I guess I’ll just walk around and find something to eat. I knew that it was going to snow today, but it’s really cold. I didn’t need this jacket yesterday, but today, it’s still cold even with the jacket. But I would be excited to see snow because we don’t really get snow in Kanto region. I hope it’ll snow, but I have to catch Shinkansen before 3PM so I only have a few more hours. I haven’t seen a single restaurant yet. Maybe it’s still too early? Vending machine for souvenirs. They even have dorayaki. I’m pretty hungry, so I might get one actually. I’ve heard of "Kamenoko Senbei". I’ll get that one. I guess I’ll get one with two senbeis. It is… 220 yen (1.45 USD). One more 50 yen coin. And then press 3. Get. I didn’t find anything to eat here, so I’ll eat breakfast in Hiraizumi. I mean I got this Kamenoko Senbei, but I’ll save it. Let’s head to Hiraizumi. They have very few trains at this time of the day, so I really can’t miss this one. So I’ll be extra careful, and wait at the station although it’s a bit too early. I came down to the platform, and it turns out the train is already here. Should I get on the train or explore the station? There’s Pikachu again. I heard they even have a Pikachu train. Let’s get inside the train. Press the button. Made it to Hiraizumi. I was thinking of renting a bike here, but it started raining. I don’t want to be biking in the rain, so I guess I’ll use buses instead. But first, I’ll go to that tourist information because I have no idea what’s here. I want to make the most of the few hours I have here, so I’ll go to the tourist information. It’s raining quite heavily. Oh no. It seems that everything is within a walking distance, so I think I’ll just walk around the area and see. Yeah, I think that’s what I’ll do today. Let’s go. First, I’ll walk to a Michinoeki which I saw online and wanted to go. The weather is worse than I expected. It’s freezing too. I wonder when it will snow. I only have this foldable umbrella with me today. It is Sunflowers by Van Gogh. I don’t have a transparent one with me. Cool. This street looks pretty old. Nice. Anyway, let’s go to the Michinoeki. I’ve been walking for about 10 minutes now, and I see that looks like the Michinoeki. It’s very chill here. I like it. I’m pretty hungry. I hope they have something to eat at the Michinoeki. Apparently they have a World Heritage site somewhere around here, but I have no idea what it is or where it is. Maybe I should try going to a temple? I made it to the Michinoeki Hiraizumi. Hopefully, I’ll eat something and plan what to do next. This building looks pretty new. I found food. Zunda Mochi and a rice ball. This rice ball is wrapped in pork. Itadakimasu. It’s really good. Next, Zunda Mochi. I love Zunda Mochi. I didn’t expect to find one in Iwate. I know they have these in Miyagi, but. Looks delicious. Itadakimasu. This one is much harder than the dango I had yesterday. I like it though. Gochisousamadeshita. I decided to follow the path this map suggests. A very nice lady just approached me and gave me this bread. I’m not sure why, but this happens a lot when I travel. I’m so happy. I’ll eat it later. Let’s get going. I came out of the building, and it is snowing! I’m not sure if you can see it on camera, but it’s like half snowing and half raining. Cool. Very fine snow. I hope you can see it. Awesome. There are apparently shuttle buses that operates between tourist attractions in the area. But since not many people visit here in colder seasons, so they only operate on weekends in winter. So I have to walk today. I made it to the World Heritage site… And it is not exactly what I expected. There are like little hills there. According to this map, this place is called "Muryoko-in Ato", and it is supposed to look like this. Where is it? Where is it? I’m allowed to enter, right? "No Bicycles" So it should be fine then. It’s cold. Maybe the water dried up for some reason? This is a World Heritage Site, apparently. Yeah, I think there’s supposed to be water there. So this is probably where Muryoko-in used to be. Let’s move on! Next, I’m going to Chūson-ji. This street I’m on is called "Chūson-ji Dori(street)". "Chūson-ji Dori". The snow is getting stronger. It’s cold. Ever since I arrived in Iwate, I’ve been sneezing non stop. Is this the cause? Are these cedar trees? I wonder. Wait, I think I’m lost. Let’ me check the map. I kept walking and finally see the name "Chūson-ji" on the sign. I made it to the entrance. The snow really adds to the atmosphere. Looks really nice. Let’s go in. Let’s first walk to the main temple. These trees are huge. Amazing. Feels very spiritual here. The trees are protecting me from the snow. Nice. The view from here must be amazing when it’s sunny. The snow is getting heavier, and it feels much colder now. But the snow really adds to the atmosphere, I think. I’ll go in the main temple. I couldn’t film inside, but I just went inside the main temple. There was a really pretty garden with plum trees and a pond. The garden looked gorgeous with the snow. I also went to this building called "Konjiki-do". It was amazing, but unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to film there. But there was one spot where you’re allowed to take a photo, so I asked a stranger to take a couple of photos of me. The building, the interior, the statues, everything was gold. It was amazing. It was shiny. It was great. I felt some presence. I apologize about my poor vocabulary. The snow is starting to accumulate. Looks pretty. I’m really enjoying it here that I’m staying here a bit longer than I originally planed. So I don’t think I will have much time to explore back in Ichinoseki. But yeah, I really like it here. I have to hop on the train in about 30 minutes. So I walked back to the station. I really wish I had more time here. It wasn’t enough at all. I did think about renting a car, but I’m not used to driving in the snow. So I was too scared. I know they have winter tires and everything, but I’m still scared. So I had to walk. I didn’t think it would snow this much though. But I really enjoyed it here anyway. I really wanted to try Wanko Soba, so I went in this restaurant behind me called "Basho-kan". The soba came in 10 minutes, I finished eating it in the next 10, so now I have 10 minutes left until the train. I managed to make it on time. I got really anxious. It’s apparently a very popular restaurant, and it was busy inside. So I thought I might not make it on time. But yeah, I managed try Wanko Soba. It was delicious. Wanko Soba at this place is served "Moridashi style" where you can eat at your own pace, unlike the ones where they keep adding soba non stop. I really enjoyed it. And I made it to the station. I’m so glad that I can make it to the Shinkansen on time. Now, I’ll go back to Ichinoseki station on a local train, and change to the Shinkansen there. The train is here. I’m back in Ichinoseki station. The view from the train was completely different on the way back with the snow. I’m amazed at how quickly snow piles up in Tohoku. It happens very rarely in Kanto region. Now, I’ll go get some souvenir for my family, and get on the Shinkansen. I bought this "Kikufuku", and came to the platform. Kikufuku is actually not from Iwate, it’s from Sendai. But my family loves this, so I bought it. Now, I’m ready to go on the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. I wish I could stay here longer. I think the view from the Shinkansen will be very pretty with the snow too. So I’m excited for that too. Let’s wait a few more minutes for the Shinkansen. Bye-bye Ichinoseki. Back to Tokyo! I’m back in Tokyo station. As I expected, the view from the Shinkansen was so pretty with snow while I was in the Tohoku region. I usually don’t go to colder places with snow, so I got really excited to see it. But yeah, the snow got weaker and weaker as we got closer to Tokyo. And I eventually fell asleep. I didn’t really plan much for this trip, but I still got to see a lot of cool places. I really enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to go back again in the future. I need to work hard. Thank you for watching until the end. See you in the next video.

  1. I fell asleep listening to your voice and you sometimes whisper at the end of a sentence which lulls me away to dream land. I will watch it again and try to stay awake this time.

  2. Thank you again Yuka-Chan, You bring us to your beautiful country via your videos and greet us with your great smile and positive attitude. 💕

  3. What a wonderful trip, thanks for taking us with you Yuka Chan! What month did you film this in to have such scenic snow?

  4. The more I see videos of Japan, the more I want to go… but it's like a 13 hour flight. Which is 12 more hours than any human should be on a plane for in a single trip. HAH.

  5. hey my LOVE Yuka Chan, its so good to see you again going around places. I LOVE YOU Yuka Chan!🥰😍😘💓💖💓💞💕🦋💐🌸💮🏵🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷

  6. I don't know how I got this channel recommended to me, but I'm supremely glad that I did! You're very charismatic, intelligent, and worldly. Two questions! (1) Would you ever do YouTube livestreams, like Sora the Troll does? (2) Would you ever consider visiting the U.S. (such as the San Francisco Bay Area)? Undeniably, it would amazing for us to show you around! (Don't ask us to pull you around on a rickshaw, though! 😂)
