IR Ishikawa trains run 3 times an hour at most times, and at least one train stops every hour.The
last train in the Kanazawa direction runs until after midnight, so it’s attractive to be able to stay until the last minute.Even
in the Toyama direction, it’s 11:18 p.m. Therefore
, I felt that it was a secret station that could be easily accessed.
The station is unmanned and accepts FeliCa such as Suica.
The hiking course of Kurikara Pass is attractive, but I was not able to visit it this time.

old line near the Hokuriku Main Line that I visited is characterized by pre-war brick tunnels.
After passing through the tunnel, there is a well-maintained Wakamiya Shrine.If
you go from the road, there are many cars passing by, and I didn’t see any sidewalks, so the best way to access it is via the tunnel.
There is a tunnel in the opposite direction as well.
Kurikara Station opened in 1909, and with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in 2015, it also serves as the border station between the IR Ishikawa Railway and Ainokaze Toyama Railway.
