It doesn’t look like much, but it’s Tamiya’s DT-03. The event is said to be held on May 13th, but it is actually held on May 12th (Sunday). I will put a link in the summary section, so please take a look if you like.

A wide range of machines will be gathered, from RTR toy radios to Chinese radio-controlled machines. There are also tournament-style races where more than 20 rally machines gather. This will be a new race, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it will bring. I doubt if this machine can be recognized as DT-03. lol

It’s a 3 wheeler, but since it’s an RR and has 2 wheel drive, it seems safe, but I think I’ll prepare something proper. It will be a very fun event, so please check out the organizer PGNR’s X (formerly Twitter) blog. I’ll put a link in the summary section.

Entry deadline is first-come, first-served. Hurry! Well, I don’t know if there is a demand for it, but I would like to introduce the DT-03 TRIKE Gundam.Ver. The Grasshopper was modified using Hotshot’s monoshock damper as a reference. I decided to move the driver doll to the position of the monoshock damper. .

I introduced this 3-wheel modification of the DT-03 in a short article, so some of you may already know about it. You can’t turn the steering wheel at the front, so you use the rear to change direction instead.

I’m not used to the rear steering, so I decided to lengthen the wheelbase to make the car’s behavior a little more gentle. To make it rear steering, I moved the servo from the front to the back and drilled a hole in the chassis.

The C-hub and uprights are parts that were originally used on the front so that the steering can be turned. I bought the Kyosho knuckle and hub set (FAZER) when it was cheap. Although it’s an unfamiliar word, there is something called “outer ring difference,” and I think that’s what makes the movement so peculiar.

Even if you don’t turn the rudder angle this far, it will turn well. As for why I modified it like this… [Mega Rider] from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. I might be the only one who thinks they look very similar, but…

I may have mixed things up and made some Gundam fans uncomfortable, but I apologize for that. Is the suspension arm left over from making it a 3-wheeler the output part of the Mega Rider? I tried using it. When I painted the black parts orange, the color turned out to be surprisingly tasteful.

I first tried using the upright of the DT-03 as a machine gun, but the shape was a little bad, so I decided to use a different upright. I tried my best to make it look like it, but what do you think?

I don’t really understand what a Mega Rider is, so I thought it would need a place to put your feet and a handle, so I made it myself, and I’m sure people will get mad at me for that.

The thing that has been flashing for a while is a 100 yen bicycle bulb light that lights up with vibrations. As a result, the gimmick is that the part that looks like a machine gun rotates and the Gundam’s upper body changes direction. Now let’s put the gimmick into action.

The rotation speed can be freely changed on the radio side. The amount of movement of the Gundam can also be changed with the radio, but this time I have set it to 5 locations to keep it a little more restrained.

The ESC and receiver covers are just enough to keep sand out, but I made a hole at the position where the body would be fixed, so they can be easily fixed and removed using pins.

By the way, Gundam is also shaped like a panel that can be inserted, so you can easily remove the battery.

I ran the DT-03.TRIKE on both dirt and concrete for a bit, but with the Gundam on it, more weight was placed on the rear, so it looked like it was going to do a wheelie. Finally, as a bonus video, I’ll also upload a video of the gimmick taken outside in bright light.

ホビーラジコンといえばタミヤのラジコンですが、その中でもよく走るというDT-03をいろいろと改造してみました。
まずはTRIKE(3輪車)に改造した上にリア駆動でさらにガンダムを乗せてます。
TRIKEはZZガンダムに出てくる。メガライダーをモデルにして作ってみました。
ガンダムファンの方からは非難されそうで怖いですが、楽しみながら作ったので満足いく出来です。

2024年5月12日(日曜日)に開催されます。動画の中でもご紹介しましたがとても楽しいイベントです。
