Andorra – Dach der Pyrenäen | Pyrenäen Motorrad Tour (Teil 5) | 4K

The third day Pyrenees. We’ve been here in this hotel in Sort, which in itself was okay. However, the food here in Spain is not that good. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, but that’s not a bad thing at all. The mopeds look like shit. There was a lot of rage here again tonight.

Decent rain came down. It’s really dirty and we’re leaving straight away Sort out into the mountains and then we head towards Andorra. Yes, that’s the plan. Have fun. Let’s see if I can figure it out here. She’s standing there at an angle again. Yes, 450 kilometers are on the plan today

To the Mediterranean and we start now. Well, well, well, well… Are you standing still… I really have to be careful. They’re all a little bit on the way here. Here everyone drives as they please. So, here we go up now. Somewhere, there… That looks good! Look at the beautiful Spanish sun

That shines in our faces here. Hopefully it stays. Things are looking really good at the moment. We had a really nice evening last night. It was a really cool end to the day yesterday anyway Just to drive here, to Spain to finally have sun after these foggy, cloudy ones damp and wet

Weather and were in a delicious pizzeria. Really had a good pizza. Very good, we drank a lot of wine and… yes, one or two cold drinks and also slept well. Overall it was really good. As I said, breakfast wasn’t that great this morning, but Well, you can not have everything.

Now it’s finally starting and we drive into the mountains. In episode V of our Pyrenees trip we go to Andorra, the roof of the Pyrenees. Andorra is located in the Eastern Pyrenees between Spain and France located democratic state in the form of a parliamentary monarchy. With 468 square kilometers, the principality is

The largest of the six European dwarf states and the only state in the world where two foreign officials work together perform the function of head of state. Andorra is also extremely rich in contrast. On the one hand, this country is completely touristy overcrowded tax haven where you can be a motorcyclist

At first you think “Where have I gotten to?” But it is also a tiny country with no less than 65 mountain peaks over 2,000 meters and some wonderfully lonely passes, which you should definitely see as a motorcyclist. This video project was by far my most complex so far.

I spent countless hours editing and there was an incredible amount of passion put into this production. If you would like to support me in what I do, then grab your smartphone in a “goosebumps moment”.

And share a photo or a short video snippet on your social media channels and link me or this video. That would be great! So I’ll put it this way A better day to start than directly from the hotel here to dive into such a wonderful street, to climb the mountain here,

About these wonderful, wonderful curves with this view here a dream. Things can’t really get off to a much better start. We’re less than ten minutes away and we are already back at 1,500 m or over 1,500 meters in altitude. The air is wonderful here and there is still some progress continue up.

We started directly from Sort towards the east, where we drove for almost 20 km and follow the N260 for over 1,000 meters south past the 2,374 m high Roca de Coma-sarrera winds its way up this wonderful road to our first pass, the Port del Cantó. 1.721 m We are at the top.

Also the other 25 km the N260 continues in the same way and lead us straight to Andorra. So this street here We’re already driving along these mountain slopes. No idea. Feels like forever. And it goes on and on here with this amazing view.

And there are just curves coming in front of you here. It’s so cool to drive. Absolute madness So that’s definitely at the top of the list on the “Best Roads List” that we drove. It is here probably depends a bit on the view and the weather,

What we have here now, but it’s so fun. This goes on and on. Check it out here. That’s just crazy. You’re really at a loss for words. That’s… something straight for breakfast. Mega. It’s gradually going down now. We are back at 900 m. This went well over 1000 m the whole time.

As I said, at least half an hour Let’s drive this road now. It could actually go on forever. So, I think they’re at the border here now in Andorra We are on the border with Andorra. My GoPro has just turned off and the memory card is full.

Yes, you hear it, but you don’t understand it. Right on the border with Andorra, Where we are here, my GoPro memory card is full. And the Insta360’s microphone isn’t really usable in this case. In any case, it’s a bit of a shock when you arrive here.

On the one hand, such visible boundaries feel somehow strange, I can’t really imagine what it used to be like. Cheers to the freedom to travel. On the other hand, Andorra shows us at the beginning from its extraordinarily ugly side. Gas stations and banks are lined up here,

Followed by department stores, boutiques and lots of traffic. But the crazy thing is, that this chaos is in the middle of countless mountains. And if you take the right turn even a few times, you are back in solitude and in the corner paradise par excellence.

And you can hardly believe your eyes when you look at the navigation system here. Once we arrive in Andorra, we go straight up the first pass. It’s quite a mess here. There are a million gas stations here, We’ve already seen those and banks and mountains all around. It’s definitely a little tighter again

And quite steep, how this goes up. It’s going to be a little bit more demanding here, with that Versys and let’s see what it looks like with oncoming traffic. The first one was pretty much on our trail in contrast to. Coming from Sant Juliá de Lória, the southernmost municipality of Andorra,

Let’s turn west into one of the impressive passes to immerse yourself in the southern Pyrenees or rather to drive up, whereby they are asphalted in the pass Passport has only been around since 2014 Because before there was only the north ramp, which we will drive down later

And which will be no less impressive. And if you think this street is narrow, wait and see. I have never seen an asphalt pass like this anywhere. But it also goes well up here. Directly over 1,000 m again, and another one on our trail. Seems here to be handled very flexibly.

And it still goes up there. What a bad road up here. This is real work. Earlier along the slope. That was Almost yes, it really happened on its own. But here you really have to work hard. Well, that’s it a bit demanding, But it’s really exciting and we’re already 1,400 m high

And the view is really intense. And we still have five kilometers to go to the highest point. It goes on like this for a while and now we have to go down again. So, where do we have to go? Straight up here, And look at this insane view here and here it goes

Now well down. Always keep your eyes on the road. Now on this tiny street, where nothing should really come your way. Here, it’s getting really tight with the car. So I haven’t driven anything like that yet. That’s just crazy, This is such a tiny road, the peak bends are extremely narrow.

We just met a cyclist. Really awesome! But the best asphalt here. What I did on the way up didn’t know this section is a one-way street, something that wouldn’t actually be possible any other way. I don’t know. Can you see that in the photo here? But it’s so narrow and steep,

This only works briefly in first gear 1,900 m the same So… I think we’ve reached the highest point. Cole de la Gallina We have to take a moment here definitely stop. It all goes down here. I’m not even sure if this… I’ll have to take a look at this right away,

Whether it wasn’t a dead end after all but we drive down over here. Well, we’ll check right away. The moped is a bit wobbly, but it’s fine. So, it somehow goes down here. Am curious. That’s right… that’s what it actually looked like on the map to me, as if that

As if we had to go back down the same way. But apparently not. It’s actually a one-way street, up here. So we even have to get back down here. But it’s really cool up here. I really liked that. The mountains are extremely high here and it’s pretty quiet here too.

And the air is. The air is so wonderful, you can’t even imagine how Ah, how wonderful this air is. It smells a bit like these coniferous forests here, this coniferous forest. Pleasantly cool 20 degrees. Very very nice. down the street here, looks a bit wider now too. That’s pretty good too.

Might be a little bit easier to drive but it goes on forever here “serpentine” down. This is dragging on. In eight kilometers it goes somewhere to the right, here, and at this speed, You’re on the road quite a bit. I have to say, I was a bit scared,

Now that we have driven into Andorra. And that’s really like one of those yes, like a shopping metropolis only appears to you at first. One gas station after another, countless cars who drove in there. I was a bit worried that the passes here would also be mega

Are overcrowded and we stand in such a long line. But look at this, there’s no one walking around here. We saw two cyclists at the top of the pass. Otherwise there’s nothing going on here. I don’t understand, but of course I prefer it so much. Also the almost 12 km

Long northern descent from the Col de la Galina is impressive through a spectacular route with countless serpentines. The road whose only reason is that Andorrian road network to complement the needs of cycling and make it more attractive, constantly changes from wide to narrow and reveals itself to us again and again

Impressive views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Hier am Osthang the Sierra Plana at 1,635 m, there is a small chapel, which is dedicated to the Virgin of Canòlich. A small carving from the 12th century, which attracts one or two pilgrims. But we continue to follow the road, which is continuous

Very steep and sometimes challenging winding down the slope Now it’s getting a little smaller again. Look at this, this is crazy. This is what a tour does here these little things down. What a badass pass. Simply. It really feels like it so on endlessly. Since that day

But there are still some more highlights waiting for us, Let’s make a cut here with the urgent recommendation to you. If you ever drive here. The Col de la Galina should definitely be done also be included in your route. So as soon as you are back down in the valley in Andorra.

You can see here that everything is completely paved here with apartments, industrial stuff, anything. Yes No idea. Everything full. Very, very unpleasant. But they don’t have that much space. They have to go somewhere with all their stuff. And me But I think it will go up again somewhere soon.

There are definitely still enough mountains around, So it’s really quite chaotic here. I don’t know, what’s more strenuous driving up this super narrow pass, that we just drove through or here through this city, to have to go through. So, we’re finally out of the center down here, out of the city.

That was really tiring and hot. My leg is burning here. The engine is pumping a lot of heat here. There is Heat from itself, then the sun, which is also slowly getting warmer and it’s time to get some wind again. And I think we’re about to get that.

And it goes nice and curvy back up the mountain, a bit along a river here. Unfortunately everything limited to 60 km/h, here for the most part. I actually want to drive a little bit faster here again, but at least things are moving forward again you have a bit of freedom here again.

And I really like what I see here too. I think it’s going up quite a bit now. Here in Andorra the speed is definitely there always very precisely regulated. Nothing is left to chance here. The traffic sign printing company is definitely happy here. There are lots of speed limit signs here

Signs that are constantly changing and no overtaking and there are overtaking signs again very very many. It’s about 10 km up now. That’s neat. This street, on which it is quite casual there are several massive grills and fire pits, takes us to another special pass of the Andorrian Pyrenees,

Today we only drive up to the top of the pass, which is located directly on the border with Spain. But the departure towards Spain is for everyone, which also pack a certain off-road portion into the tour want, probably the more interesting one. It is the Coll de la Botella

Or also called Port de Cabús, a notorious pass, which likes was and probably still is used by smugglers. It connects the municipality of La Massana with Alins in Catalonia and is therefore a legal anomaly, since there are no border controls up there,

Although it forms the external border of the Schengen area in which it normally There are robust passport controls. That’s seeing it again everything looks super cool. Hier im oberen Teil des Port de Cabús the speed is limited to 30, yes 30 kilometers per hour

And as a result the last few kilometers are a bit longer. But here on this wide street you actually have some invites you to move much faster, even more time relax and let your eyes wander into the distance and take in this wonderful view. Look around, these fat birds are eagles.

I’m not a birder, but there are definitely some out there who know that. Write to me that you definitely read the comments, what blatant, huge ones Birds And the view is really amazing. This looks really nice here. But today we have too The best weather, just as we hoped for.

It doesn’t actually get any better. And ends all at once the asphalt road at 2,305 m on the border with Spain, the highest point of the Coll de la Botella. And it feels a little like you’ve arrived at the end of the world, So, we drive back down the pass.

So it’s just absolutely gigantic, fantastic here, such an amazing one beautiful landscape here, super beautiful and the horses everywhere. Have a look at this. So, this is real very, very untouched nature here. All these little flowers that are here and it smells here too totally sweet like some perfume,

When you walk around here. Although there is such a huge upswing here on all sides. Depending on where you stand, the wind comes really hard here shot up. Very nice, They’re out too. as if they are a bit cold. It’s pretty cool here.

So if I’m born as a horse in my next life, then I would like to please right here somewhere in the Pyrenees allowed to walk around. It couldn’t be nicer. Look at these huge, huge birds. There’s such a thing here! I was wondering what was smoking here.

Just took a quick look, but there’s one here too public fireplace. That’s a really cool idea. I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere. Especially if you come here with a motorhome somehow you can stand and then you can do something there the grill. Horny. So, we’re back down in town.

At the point where we were earlier drove up to this beautiful square, this beautiful place. And I hope we do now Don’t drive through here again forever, but relatively quickly drive over the next pass again. So, it goes to 1,980 m high Coll d’Ordino,

Which is located almost exactly in the middle of Andorra and with its almost 2,000 meters one of the highest asphalted Pyrenees passes ever. Coming from Ordino, the western ramp is almost ten kilometers long 680 meters in altitude and is considered a less traveled route to the east, nach Canillo. Also a wonderful street

Which winds its way up here. Super nice to drive once again a little wider, a little faster, The asphalt is leaking everywhere here. It couldn’t be smoother. That is fun! I don’t know if you can see that in the video, but they always have them in all the curves here on the road

A few lines have been drawn that give you a bit of distance the distance to the center line should specify. Here you can see it quite well, You tend to just do it all by yourself, Even if you don’t take the line quite so precisely,

Somehow drive a little further in the middle of the road and hits pretty much exactly the safe line you want because it shouldn’t be exceeded. I think it’s a really cool thing. It makes it easier definitely especially for beginner drivers a little bit, which is the optimal line or the safe line

Through such hairpin bends. Perhaps also one or two drivers. I think we’ll be up here any moment. We are now at 1,940 m and should reach the top of the pass at any moment and this right here. Coll d’Ordino and we drive straight back down.

We have to look at the time a bit, We have already taken a lot of time for the final things. We still have We actually have 300 kilometers to go and it’s almost two o’clock. The food thing is still pending, after our breakfast was a bit poor, this morning,

We have to take a little break somewhere. But here, this looks so cool. And back there A few clouds are already gathering on the summits. I’m not sure where we’re going right now, but it is not impossible that it even goes up there. Of course that wouldn’t be quite as ideal,

But we’ll see. It’s also towards the afternoon. It tends to get a bit tight at times or even a bit of a thunderstorm and rain again. Therefore, it would be quite good when we get out of the high peaks here, because otherwise it will be uncomfortable, Do we want to drive over here?

Okay. We just decided that we would take a little break here. Let’s see if she has something for us. Die Location, which we stumbled across by the way was really beautiful, super spacious, a wonderful and lovingly designed atmosphere with lots of small details and a bombastic view

On the surrounding mountains and the curves that still lie ahead of us. Getting married would be awesome. Now we didn’t want to get married, we just wanted to eat quickly. There were plenty of free tables, but there was no chance without a reservation. Why? Sometimes you really wonder what kind of stick

In their innermost being and why some stores simply not interested in sales. Well, at least there was something to drink and finger food at the bar, which we devoured pretty quickly and then us but we reopened it quite soon in order to move forward.

Even though it was really tempting here, the wonderful sun let it shine on your face a little longer and enjoy this view, So it was really a very, very, very, very nice location here. Like, yeah, the only thing that comes to mind is, like, somehow has such a wedding location. Very chic. Unfortunately

We were able to go to the actual restaurant, Even though there were 1 million tables available, you didn’t eat anything because you had to make a reservation. You can reserve for half an hour and there are also the tables not full. But there was nothing for us at first.

But we have it a small one Ate tapas toast and a few olives and something to drink. That was was actually sufficient. And now let’s move on. We still have a lot of kilometers ahead of us. Now it goes back down in a nice curve

And then I think it’s back here in these cloudy mountains think about it a lot, I mean, France goes. Over the highest pass in the Pyrenees and then we meander slowly towards the Mediterranean. Let’s see if we can still get there. It really is now time has progressed quite well.

But if I do then we’ll do it somewhere else one more night. Let’s see. The descent from Coll d’Ordino takes us further along a well-developed road with many quick curves heading east to our next and final pass in Andorra. So, we drove through the city a bit. But it wasn’t that long

Went a little faster and now it’s working again up over our last pass here in Andorra to France. 2.190 Meter and it goes up a bit. The highest pass in the Pyrenees. Of course it’s not quite like that spectacular. Now from a driving point of view and probably quite run over.

There are a few more cars here and a truck and something like that, But it’s just the highest and that’s why we take it with us, of course. You can also drive through a tunnel here to France, that works too, it is subject to tolls. But of course we’re going here

Over the pass. Yes and that sees also super hot again from the clouds and also a lot of wind. Two and a half kilometers left until we get to the top Here the wind blows at you from the side Der Col d’Envalira ist mit seinen 2,408 m

The highest road mountain pass in the Pyrenees. And there is something else that sets this pass apart Despite its enormous altitude, the pass is not closed in winter and is therefore also the highest Europe’s most passable pass road all year round. It got really cold too. Now only ten degrees in the cloud.

Nine degrees is getting cooler, always higher, always cooler. 2.300 Meter. And even though I actually enjoy more remote passes with narrow and winding streets, it’s also fun for a change to somehow shoot up such a wide race track and really squeeze the Versys out of it again.

It’s beautifully done that there are a few passing lanes here where you can drive past the cars in a relaxed manner. Of course you can’t see anything at all. A pity! I think we’re almost at the top now. Have to slow down a little bit,

Not that we just rush past the top of the pass. But I see it on the navigation system. We’re at the top of the pass and I also think that this is the limit. We’ll refuel here soon. 2.408 Meter high and right at the top of the pass,

Not one, no, two gas stations. Yes, we’d best fill up the mopeds now and maybe it will pick up again for a short while. That too is typical Andorra. Yes, unfortunately, unfortunately it is the highest pass in the Pyrenees hang in clouds. But well, we have already seen so many beautiful pictures.

I have to come back here anyway. Yesterday we missed one or two passes. Almost visually, at least. That it is actually necessary to drive here again somehow and then we will take these things with us too. I just hope now that we, if we come back down a bit now,

Then get out of the cloud again. Not that this cloud is all over the page here Direction France, everything is covered in clouds, that we are of course worst case. So everything is still in clouds here. But I have just already said to Thomas that it’s probably a good thing because

We just drove past such huge shopping malls. That is real really ugly. Maybe it’s quite good. that you don’t see that much here. This is the highest pass here, but by no means the prettiest. Yes, we’re just crossing the border here back to France. Here sees you also see the signs.

And it’s still cloudy. 8 degrees. It’s really cool too. Things could slowly pick up again. Here we go. So, also we stopped very briefly and have a very small bit umplanted now, because the weather here is somehow not that great on that side.

We just checked the radar again when it was raining and there was a big cloud and definitely drizzle afterwards too and have now decided that we would like to do another little piece Head over to Spain. Something like that.

We actually wanted to go to this Cap de Creus, I think that’s what it means. On this little peninsula. We have to think about whether we go there again tomorrow. I actually wanted to go there today But as I said, things aren’t quite as good in the evenings either

And that’s why we’re going a little further south now. Roughly between this peninsula and Barcelona, like that We have now simply set a point for the height and it should still be warm and nice there this evening. And we really like that here now because we’re driving around at 7, 8, 9 degrees

And it’s so freezing cold and damp again, of course can still so that we get a little bit of rain, because this little rain cloud cannot be clearly defined, where that is everywhere. But we already had the experience yesterday that it tends to on the Spanish side is rather nicer and warmer.

And now just hope and that’s why we’re going now through the tunnel a little bit back towards Spain. Yes, that’s how it is with tour planning. The weather can sometimes throw a spanner in the works in the mountains. The Cap de Creus was actually one of the first waypoints,

Which I had set in my Pyrenees tour, But the chance for a little more Spanish sun is just too tempting at the moment. Yes, I would say everything was done right! That moment when you’re standing at the barrier and it just won’t go up. But somehow it worked.

I would say we just did everything right. I love it when a plan works. And I love it when we sit by the Mediterranean tonight and can let our feet dangle in there for a bit. This is a really cool street. It goes through these dry ones here Fields, stones, rock faces.

It’s really cool to drive pretty quickly and is a completely different look here. It really looks like mainland Spain. I believe it is here It’s been a really long time since a drop of rain somehow fell here. It looks so dry. Up here you can also see the high mountains of the Pyrenees.

You can see it again really well here on the left side. But there’s also some really nice bad weather involved. And I would say we did everything right here it’s nice here almost too warm again. So we are now in the last few kilometers drove onto the highway again because Da da!

It’s over there really down and I just hope Please, please, please let’s drive past here on the right, directly ans More. Otherwise that would be another real shower. Now to end the day and look where we’re going. We’re going that way and not that long. That doesn’t look good up there.

Look at what’s here is going on behind us. We’re going into the sun. Ans More. At 25 degrees. Oh yes? So, I’ve spared you what we’re doing now through two terrible places sneaked through again. And now it’s final in our little town. And I think we’re about to see the sea.

Maybe not yet. Let’s see. I’ve seen it before and it looked very, very good. Very, very blue, very very wet and very, very cold. And I know someone who really wants to get in there… And that’s my butt. That’s it already really well used.

Especially here when you’re driving around in this warm climate and then more or less just stands there, at the traffic lights and through the cities, It’s really a real strain in the end though it will soon be over! So, be careful! Danger… Danger! And… There it is, the Mediterranean.

From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean in three days through the Pyrenees Oh wonderful. We are in Tossa de Mar arrived. Now we just have to find our hotel…and that really wasn’t any fun. We also had something for that night – in quotes Looking for something “cheaper” because here, right on the Costa

Brava, prices are really not without their price. That’s why the hotel wasn’t all that great, but I’ll tell you that in the next part. After we freshen up had done, but anyway we went straight towards the sea, where we ate really well again and drank a lot of sangria.

But we didn’t let it go. Another nighttime sightseeing tour through the historic old town, which is really nice to do and also the one in the 16th century Fortress built to protect against pirates Of course we looked at each other. We have reached the end of Part V.

A lot of love goes out to everyone give it a thumbs up and leave a comment. In the next part we drive by far the best coastal road throughout the Mediterranean, dive back into the Pyrenees and there will be so many curves that you’ll be dizzy.

More curves than I have ever driven in one day before. You can be excited. See you in the next video!

    And
    Keep on driving 🏁

Tja, Transpyrenähen Reise in 3 Tagen…

  8. Telepeage BIP &Go
