【四国旅行】行くぜ松山・道後温泉!何故こんなに揺れるんだ…「特急いしづち」の〇〇装置に完敗する乗り鉄

I took a single twin on the sleeper express Sunrise Seto by myself, crossed the Seto Ohashi Bridge for the first time in my life, and finally arrived in Shikoku. I will post a link to the video of that moment in the comments section.

When I arrived at Takamatsu Station, I ate udon for breakfast. I thought about my plans for today. Okay. For now, let’s take this “Limited Express Ishizuchi” and head to Dogo Onsen! This video is brought to you by “Shi Ma”. Anyway, I bought a weekend unlimited pass.

I took the limited express Ishizuchi at 10:47 to Matsuyama Station. Then I went to Dogo Onsen to cleanse my body. That meal… What should I do? I’m not thinking about anything. This train has free seats, right? I think the station is getting pretty crowded around this time. The train is empty.

There are still about 20 minutes left until the train departs, so there are no passengers yet. The Ishizuchi and Shiokaze limited express trains are mainly used on the Yosan Line. 8600 series. This train was introduced around 2014 and is manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

It is equipped with a body tilting device to withstand the harsh JR Shikoku track with its many curves. I see. Apparently there are some reserved seats in the back. So what should I do? You can choose as many seats as you want. Where should I go? There seems to be no front view.

Is it okay if I sit behind you? Would you like to stay around here? This single seat. Let’s get on board now. This is my first time riding JR Shikoku. You excited. As expected, the interior design is not much different from JR East. Let’s sit in the front.

It looks like you can see a little bit of the front view. The seat fabric is a warm orange color. 2 hours from now. It looks very comfortable. Does the seat also move? This is fine. oh! Anpanman train is coming! That was also an old model express train, Ishizuchi.

Now, let me introduce a simple route. I’m currently in Takamatsu. Travel along the Yosan Line, which runs parallel to the Seto Inland Sea, to Matsuyama. It’s quite a long distance. 194km from Takamatsu to Matsuyama? Isn’t that the distance you can go from Tokyo to Shizuoka or Nagano?

The ride time is approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes. From Matsuyama, we will go to Dogo Onsen. The door will close. What kind of ride will this express train have? The body tilting device is stronger than JR East’s E353 series. The limited express Azusa tilts 1.5 degrees, and this train tilts 2 degrees.

It shows very reliable driving. Good acceleration. It’s nice to be able to accelerate immediately after leaving the starting station. Oh, I passed by Marine Liner. Is this a train depot? Takamatsu train yard. Many trains and diesel trains are also stopped. Oh, the 2700 series that I love is also parked.

Oh, there are Kiha 40 too! I don’t know the difference with 48. Sorry if I’m wrong. It’s great, it’s a lot of information and it’s fun. There is also a turntable. The sightseeing train also stopped there.

It’s also a good idea to cross the river at high speed after the train depot is over. It’s an interesting shaped mountain. It’s also a nice atmosphere that so many people live at the foot of the mountain. Recommended tickets. For birthdays, we recommend the birthday ticket. I bought a weekend unlimited ticket.

If you want to ride in green cars a lot, this is recommended. I think I’ll buy this next time I come to Shikoku. We soon arrived at Sakaide Station, which branches off from the Seto Ohashi Line. It’s a big city. The railroad tracks are also elevated and are very beautiful.

I thought it was a station with 2 sides and 4 lines, but it turned out to be 2 lines and 3 lines. There is only one line heading towards Takamatsu. It’s really tilted! It’s like an airplane. That’s the track that leads to Seto Ohashi Bridge.

This is the Delta Line, where the tracks are triangular. We soon arrived at Utazu Station. At Utazu, the limited express Shiokaze from Okayama is connected to the front of the train. Many people come from Okayama. There is a five-car train parked in front of it.

A total of 7 cars will be heading to Matsuyama. There was a lot of vibration when connecting. Oh, it’s already Imabari! That’s what I thought, but I was wrong. That is Imabari Shipbuilding’s Marugame Office. As expected, the Seto Inland Sea has a thriving shipbuilding industry.

It was exhilarating to pass the station at high speed. I ended up going to a single seat. It was actually a seat for people in wheelchairs, but there was no one there so I took advantage of it. oh! Does the Yosan Line get this close to the sea? The beautiful Seto Inland Sea!

We soon passed an interesting station. Tsushimamiya Station. A station where trains only stop for two days a year. Apparently it only stops during festivals at that shrine. The reason he’s smiling so much is because he’s excited about the vehicle tilting device. When the train turns a curve, it leans sharply.

I heard? The sound of now. But, it seems like it’s no good. This is intoxicating. I get really drunk. I had hoped that the limited express Azusa’s body tilting device would be okay, but this train was shaking so much. It feels like an airplane flying through turbulence. Well, I’ve never ridden one.

People with strong semicircular canals probably won’t like this train. But you know, I’m weak. Too weak. I get sick just by getting on a ship that sails in a bay that is not offshore. So I fell asleep for a bit. where is here? It’s quite a city. Is it Imabari Station?

This is Ehime prefecture. The number of passengers using Imabari Station is approximately 2,000 per day. It is the second busiest station in Ehime Prefecture after Matsuyama Station. Oh, I feel like throwing up a little. I got really drunk. Why are you so drunk? Very…. I felt sick.

Is this the Shikoku Railway? That’s amazing. Yes here. Matsuyama Station’s specialty, parallel stops. Moreover, the express train is stopped in parallel. It is quite rare to see this sight in Japan. You can also take a close look at pendulums, which are rarely seen in the Kanto region.

After all, it’s completely different from a normal trolley. Can you see the black rubber in the middle of the trolley? The device underneath moves left and right and tilts the vehicle. I want to ride this too. But I don’t have much time for that today.

The smell of charcoal is amazing. It smells very nice. Instead of the smell of light oil from a diesel engine, the smell of charcoal wafts through the air as soon as you get off the train. It’s a great atmosphere. Pearl gacha. Thousand yen. It says, “Aiming to make the Shinkansen a reality.”

I felt keenly that I wanted it. It took 2 hours and 22 minutes to get here from Takamatsu. This has been shortened to 42 minutes?! I really hope it comes true! Pendulum type…The car body tilting device may be bad. That train was more tiring than the Azusa Limited Express.

Limited Express Azusa does not shake at all. However, the 8600 series shakes a lot. I’m hungry. Uzon…is that okay? Shall we eat curry? Matsuyama Station. It’s a great atmosphere. But why hasn’t anything been increased regarding the construction of new station buildings and elevation? Is that a streetcar? Streetcar?

What is the official name? A streetcar? Shall we take that ride to Dogo Onsen? Can I use Suica? Is this the way to Dogo Onsen? There was a steam locomotive streetcar called the Botchan Train. Currently suspended due to driver shortage.

However, it appears that they have found a way to arrange a driver, and operations have resumed since March of this year. It’s an amazing place in many ways. Is it okay to drive here? That’s amazing! There is a right turn lane. That’s interesting! There is no such sight on the Toden.

This is also quite retro. I don’t really understand why this is a stone wall. I see, this is where I am now. This is how we came. Wow, I can’t believe it. After all, if you go a little further here, you’ll be in Kyushu. That’s where I am.

Moreover, there is Wu on top. This streetcar is Iyotetsu! Iyotetsu streetcar. This is the main line. The route is growing like this. Iyotetsu recently announced a new train. This Matsuyama area is full of Iyotetsu lines. Dogo Onsen is 200 yen by tram from Matsuyama Station.

If you go by bus, it costs 480 yen. There seem to be few streetcars going to Dogo Onsen during this time. Approximately 3 per hour. Oh, is this Dogo Onsen Station? Is this the rumored Botchan train? It’s a pretty nice locomotive. Is this a bus terminal? I didn’t understand it at all.

This shopping street is said to be only about 200 meters long. The shape of the hot spring town is quite simple. The tourist information center is here. I think I’ll go here. This is a hot spring that is an important cultural property. Apparently only about 20 people can enter at a time.

Is this Asuka no Yu? No, this way? But hey, I’m hungry. I haven’t had lunch. I was imagining a lively hot spring town like Atami or Hakone. It’s a surprisingly simple, quiet, and very relaxing place. The bathing fee is 610 yen. It was nice to have body soap and shampoo as well.

Well, the hot water was nice, but it was dangerous. 40 people were about to arrive. There were only about 5 people inside. Now let’s take a look at another Dogo Onsen main building. Is that what it is? It’s under construction, but it looks like it’s open for business. Isn’t it a great place?

Is Jakoten popular? A lot of Jakoten is sold around here. I think it’s about 300 yen. It’s so delicious Jakoten! Was it this delicious? what…? Maybe it’s the setting for Spirited Away? Different. The setting was Shima Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. (This seems to be the image of Aburaya) Bus bound for Matsuyama Airport.

I thought it would be easiest to come to Matsuyama by plane. It really makes you realize how vast Shikoku is. I left Dogo Onsen, not Bingo Ochiai, and arrived at Takamatsu Station at 18:54. Why does it take so long? Well, that’s natural. It’s about the distance from Hiroshima to Okayama.

It’s about the distance from Osaka to Nagoya. That’s how it feels, isn’t it? I think Shin-Osaka and Nagoya are about the same distance. It would take 3 hours and 25 minutes to travel. If this Shinkansen is available, it will take about 1 hour. There are 500,000 people here.

I think it would be a good idea to build a Shinkansen just in Matsuyama. What do you think? It’s interesting that even though it’s such an old tram, it has full color LED lights. I can’t believe it. Hello Cycling is here in Matsuyama! Let’s ride a bicycle and go to Matsuyama Station.

It seems to be nearby. Unfortunately, when I reloaded it, it disappeared. why. I also looked at the loop, but it seems to be outside the area. Is Hiroshima nearby? For now, I took a streetcar and moved to a nearby port.

I want to cycle around Matsuyama city, so I get off the tram and head to the bicycle rental port. The next express train is in an hour. Even if you don’t have to ride it, there are plenty of them so you can afford it.

I had no idea that a place two hours away from Takamatsu would be so prosperous. Moreover, Hello Cycling can only be used in the Takamatsu and Matsuyama areas in Shikoku! Also nearby is Awaji Island. How to use Hello Cycling is extremely simple.

If you register as a member and provide your credit card, the service will pick up a bicycle near you. The display is buggy, but you can use it for around 130 yen for 30 minutes. I think it will be nearby soon. That’s it! This one.

Wouldn’t it be better to choose something as clean as possible? We’re all together. Make it H2143. Which one? Is this it? It should be unlocked. Not canceled. unlocked. All with electric assist. It’s easy. It’s nice to be able to rent a bicycle and go anywhere you want.

It’s not too cold today and it’s not raining so it’s good. Matsuyama Station was over there. Electric bicycles can be quite fast and fun, but they can also be dangerous. I’m not wearing a helmet, so let’s not go too fast. This is a combined trajectory. interesting. Can you see Matsuyama Castle?

Is it mixed with seawater? There’s something like a birdhouse. It feels good. It’s a strange feeling. I returned to Matsuyama Station. After all…the elevated structure is under construction, right? The return port was located at a restaurant that had mysteriously gone out of business.

If you lock it properly and press return, it should return automatically. An email comes. It seems no good after all. It seems that the return will not be completed unless you press this return button. Return completed. Thank you for using our service. Kiosk Matsuyama. Now, let’s get back on board Ishizuchi 26.

If it’s the 8600 series, I think I’ll take the next express train home. There is also a bus bound for Takamatsu. The time doesn’t seem to change much whether you go by bus or express train. You did it. It’s the 8000 series! The last five cars are bound for Okayama.

I have to ride in the front three cars. Unreserved seat. This is a train that has not been renewed yet. I wanted to ride this old train. You’ll be able to ride the renovated train a lot in the future. This is a proper pendulum-type express train, unlike the one I rode on.

The ride comfort is probably on a whole other level compared to the 8600 series. Personally, I really enjoyed Matsuyama and would like to come back again. I think I’ll come by plane next time! But depending on the situation, if I enjoy this train, I might come again. It smells good.

It smells like Tobu Railway’s limited express Spacia. It smells like JNR. Moreover, this cabin is a former smoking car. The elevated Matsuyama Station is expected to be completed this year. However, a design error caused a delay of about six months. What’s that, a design mistake? Well, it’s 27 minutes. Departing soon.

Let’s take a look at the wash basin too… It’s quite retro. Looks like Sunrise Seto. There is no such thing as a temperature control knob. Does it only come out with water? Lukewarm. A plug door would be nice. This also looks like a limited express Spacia. This is this. Oh! Sounds good!

What company’s sound is this? Is it Toshiba? I don’t know much about it. (Toshiba GTO-VVVF) This VVVF inverter sounds great. Goodbye Matsuyama Station. As expected, the ride comfort is completely different from the 8600 series. This train is the 8000 series. Tilts smoothly. That’s a great angle.

Apparently it tilts up to 5 degrees when driving around curves. You can see a very interesting view from the train window. Oh amazing! It’s so tilted! Despite this, the ride is extremely comfortable! Please, JR East should also introduce pendulum express trains! Do you know how much it is leaning?

Look at the telephone pole. This is what it looks like when the pendulum device is tilted 5 degrees. It’s too much fun. Here comes another curve! It looks very tilted. One thing that caught my attention was this step.

I think it’s probably part of the heating equipment found on the Kiha 40, but I wonder what it is. Ah, the Seto Inland Sea is coming soon! I found a three-dimensional boat shed. Sticky rice is good even when it’s cold. What country do you build ships in?

The Shimanami Kaido, which connects Ehime and Hiroshima, will soon come into view. It’s a big bridge. Railways cannot pass over that bridge. Oh, isn’t that the A Coop that was also at Echigo-Suhara Station? I never expected to see it here… I guess we’ll arrive at Imabari Station soon. It’s quite a big city.

I also want to cross the Shimanami Kaido, so I’ll stay in this town then. Where is this? I was sleeping for a while when the train stopped because the train had passed by the wrong way. The opposing train is of course an express train. It’s a reliable route.

I was a little tired so I decided to sleep. good night. Just then, I saw something shining on the mountain on the other side. What is that? Is it a temple or something? 0 series Shinkansen on display? Iyo Saijo Station.

It seems that Shinji Sogo, the president of Japanese National Railways who planned the construction of the Tokaido Shinkansen, was from Saijo. Hey, shall I try it next time? It was dark outside. The smoke coming from the factory was illuminated by the lights of the factory complex. Finally, Tadotsu Station was approaching.

Takamatsu, the last stop, is 50 minutes away. I guess I’m not feeling well today. I couldn’t help but get drunk. There is a glittering building near Seto Ohashi Bridge. Finally, Utazu Station. If you’ve come this far, it’s like you’ve arrived at Takamatsu. I’m feeling a little bad.

It merges with the railway line coming from Seto Ohashi Bridge. I’ll be running on that track again in a few hours. Wow, that was long! Shikoku is really big! I felt it keenly. But it was fun. It was a trial trip to Shikoku.

By the way, the reason I bought the weekend free ticket was because I was thinking of going to Tokushima after this. I had about 3 hours until the sleeper express train to take me home, so I thought I’d be able to make the round trip.

I was able to go today for about 6000 yen if I just went to Matsuyama and back. I lost about 5000 yen. Ah, that’s frustrating. This train has no particular purpose. I have a free ticket, so I can enter. This seat is the same as the 115 series.

It’s a seat you might find on a Japanese National Railway car. nostalgic. Is this comfortable to ride? What about that. I’ll ride it around next year. Why is it so glittery? What’s going on with this? Has the water level changed since morning? Is it increasing a little? Not much has changed.

It doesn’t feel right. Bad mood. Does lack of sleep make you feel this bad? Or do pendulum-type express trains really not suit your constitution? Cause unknown. I don’t feel like eating dinner. Riding the bus makes me feel drunk, and riding the train makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

I think I’ll try cycling into the city again with Hello Cycling. There’s just a problem. If it is full when you return your bicycle to the port in front of this station at the return time, it will be a big problem. There are only a few left… Oh no! 142? 142?

Can 142 also stop bicycles? Then it’s okay! scared. This elevator. Is this the same one as Akabane Station? Bicycle rentals are on the 1st basement floor. Oh, it seems it’s not an electric bicycle. This sticky feeling! Seriously, it’s Akabane Station. do you understand?

The ticket gate of Akabane Station where there are fewer people. Which one? Which one? This way? Are you looking for one from here? It’s impossible, isn’t it? But it’s cheap because it doesn’t have electric assist. It costs 200 yen to use it for 24 hours.

If there’s something in here, I can’t put it in there. Why did you set it here? I’m probably going to be the only person riding a bicycle even though I’m about to ride the sleeper express. No, that’s not true. Tokushima ramen. Ah, don’t get lost.

And this is Kotodentsukko Station. Do you read it as Chikkou Station? Is that a former Keio vehicle over there? The train is stopped. It’s probably the one over there that’s more crowded. Let’s go. The acceleration is quite fast! Isn’t it amazing? But I’m a little drunk right now. I shouldn’t ride it.

If you vomit, you’ll be in trouble. And it’s a great curve. The sound of creaking steel echoes through the building and can be heard from here. There is even a “Sukiya”! The breakfast at Sukiya is very delicious. It seems they don’t offer self-made kettle-fried udon today. It’s a shame. Let’s try something else.

This looks like a court, and it’s huge! (Takamatsu District Court) Is this a shopping street? Far from the station. There is Namaru udon. Is it best to eat dinner at the Meriken restaurant in front of the station? Chinese food isn’t bad either. What do you think?

Even though it is so prosperous, there are no people at all. Is it New Year? This road is quite scary. It’s a great atmosphere. There aren’t any udon shops around here anymore. Are there more izakaya restaurants than udon restaurants? Seriously, what’s going on?

The advantage of riding a night train is that you can freely explore the sights until your departure time in the evening. I can’t imagine going back to Tokyo today. There’s no sense of reality. There is abura soba. I’ve already decided here. I prefer mixed soba to udon. I’ll have a sip of water.

Oil soba. About 700 yen. Also one raw egg. Wow, it looks delicious. Serve with vinegar and chili oil. delicious. It was really good. Will you come again? Seto Ohashi Street? So, if I go straight on this road, will it lead to Seto Ohashi Bridge? This elevator smells like Saitama Rapid Railway.

It’s kind of like Kita Ward overall. cold! It’s unbelievably cold outside. I can’t trust this return button at all. I never thought that rental bicycles would be so popular in Matsuyama and Takamatsu in Shikoku. After today, we will be staying at a super luxury hotel! A 17,000 yen hotel…

Ah, I’m tired. I feel like I don’t need to take a shower since I took a hot spring bath. This concludes our trip to Shikoku. Thank you for your viewing. Next time, let’s take that train from Tokushima. I could have taken the ferry. Sunrise Seto was also really fun.

This is very easy to see. Is this the same display as the Liberty Express? a! This smell! It smells like burnt iron! I love! Very good. This train is great. I think they should introduce it in the Takasaki area as well. There is even a convertible cross seat. I’m jealous.

This is not perspective. The 2700 series in the back is very small. Obviously small. do you understand? I wonder if it has a lower center of gravity because it has a pendulum device. I thought I would enjoy Shikoku, but it was super fun! I definitely want to ride that 2700 series next time.

This is my favorite train. What’s good about Takamatsu Station? It is an end-of-the-head platform. I use all platforms. The nearby train depot isn’t dead either. There are no dying trains. Only shiny and clean trains come. I’m also excited about the fact that it’s a super express express country.

Well then, thank you for watching until the end. The next video is also about Sunrise Seto. Let’s go back to Tokyo. On this channel, we will continue to post about one train travel video a week that focuses on images and sounds.
