東側入り口前に飲食店が数軒あり、JR奈良線の踏切を渡った先には五百羅漢の石仏で知られる石峰寺・京都最古の多宝塔の残る宝塔寺がある。西側入り口前に自転車置き場と駐車場があり、すぐ近くに小学校、そこから少し西へ進むと京都府警察学校と龍谷大学がある。

Around the station
There are several restaurants in front of the east entrance, and across the JR Nara Line railroad crossing are Sekiho-dera Temple, known for its stone Buddha statues of the 500 Arhats, and Hoto-ji Temple, home to Kyoto’s oldest treasure pagoda. There is a bicycle storage area and a parking lot in front of the west entrance, an elementary school is nearby, and if you go a little west from there you will find the Kyoto Prefectural Police Academy and Ryukoku University.
