Odc. 88 – Missing 411 PL – Straszne Historie i Tajemnicze Zaginięcia Kierowców Ciężarówek – Część 1

Hello, this is Damian Dąbrowski, welcome to Dębowa Chatka (Oak Cottage). In today’s material, we will discuss two cases of mysterious disappearances of truck drivers. However, before we move on to them, I will tell you one very interesting account from Ohio, which was sent in a letter to Paulides by an anonymous policeman.

Here she is. I am an experienced 39-year-old police officer from the picturesque state of Ohio. I would like to share an incident that happened about 8 years ago. The only thing I ask for is anonymity, because we know how easily beliefs and unusual events can undermine credibility in my profession.

Nevertheless, everything I am about to describe is the absolute truth and it will remain in my memory forever. Even after all these years, the memory of this incident still gives me goosebumps.

My friends and I had a habit of spending our free time in the forests around us, and from time to time we would go camping at one of our grandparents’ farm. My friend’s grandparents’ farm happened to border my grandparents’ property.

I knew this area like the back of my hand because I lived nearby, so I usually traveled this route on foot. One night, which was the background to this extraordinary incident, I received a text message from a friend.

He informed me that he and some of our mutual friends were planning to go camping at our favorite place. Unfortunately, I had an early shift scheduled the next day, so I had to decline.

However, thanks to the kindness of other officers, I managed to move my shift to a later hour and thus came up with a plan. It was very simple, I would go through my grandparents’ farm. I will go through about 3 km of dense forest, cross a pasture about 400 m long.

I will cross a stream and go about 300 m uphill to the place where my friends planned to set up camp. I was going to wait in the tree line until someone, for example, came up to them, and then I would jump out and scare them.

Around 11 p.m. I put on my hunting camouflage and hit the road. I was afraid someone would call me, so I left my cell phone at home. Since it was a full moon, I didn’t need a flashlight, but for some reason I decided to take the knife strapped to my belt.

I left the house late in the evening on a steamy summer night. I think it was the end of August. For those who don’t know, summer in Ohio can be really hot. I crossed my grandparents’ field and, in the moonlight, reached the fence they shared with my friend’s grandparents.

As soon as I crossed the fence, I felt something was wrong. I felt like I was being watched. I felt uneasy but decided to continue my journey and started walking through about 300m of dense forest that led to an open pasture on the other side.

I went down a cow path that was so well trodden that there was only soft sand under my feet. Then I heard the snap of some sticks. At first I didn’t pay attention to it. After all, I’m constantly moving in the forest, I thought, and maybe I’ve scared off a deer.

Then I started hearing the cracking of thick sticks and it felt like someone was keeping pace with me. I thought to myself that I had to be more careful because they might hear me. I stopped for a moment and then I heard more sounds of branches breaking.

At this point I looked down the path I was walking on and as far as I could see there were no sticks. It was just a beaten cow path and there was no wood on it that could be broken or that I could step on.

This all came together when another larger stick broke nearby and I started walking more briskly down the path. During this time, behind me and to my right, I heard what sounded like more sticks breaking under my feet and someone following me.

I stopped and tried to calm down. It’s all in your head. I said to myself, it’s just a deer, a raccoon, and as I was talking to myself in my head, I realized it was completely silent. Where I was was no more than 100 feet from the creek, but I couldn’t hear it.

I didn’t hear any running water, cicadas, frogs or any insects, even though the area was somewhat swampy. At that moment I realized that the only sound I could hear was my own heartbeat.

Apart from that, there was dead silence. As a diver, I would say it was almost like being underwater because my sense of sound seemed muted and distant. As I stood there, I heard what sounded like someone taking a piece of wood and breaking it over their knee.

To be honest, at this point I panicked and started running away. However, as quickly as I started to run, something seemed to tear through the thick forest behind me and run at the same speed.

Even though all the natural sounds of the forest were gone, I could hear the sound of branches cracking and twigs breaking under the weight of something that was chasing me, and the leaf-covered branches swaying from side to side as if pushed aside by something that was moving through the forest behind me.

I figured if I could just get to the pasture I could see what it was. I continued my sprint until I reached my destination and I still remember running into thick grass up to my knees.

In this open field, the thick fog was already beginning to lift, and the moon hung atop a rickety dead tree. I remember thinking, is this the moment when I die? like in some stupid horror movie?

I continued to run through the grass and behind me I heard the rustling of the grass being moved to the side and someone following me.

I kept running, but whatever was behind me sounded very close. At this point, various scenarios ran through my mind. One of them was that I didn’t tell anyone where I was. The second was that I was alone, and the third was that no one would be able to help me.

The fourth one was that I was going to die. I have been afraid many times in my life, but at this moment it was more than just fear. It was a fight for survival.

At that moment I turned 180° to face what was behind me and without thinking, knife in hand, I said: now what? I have no idea why I said that when I turned around. I saw the grass up to my knees part as if someone was running straight at me.

I stopped, this thing stopped too. I saw the grass part to the sides and suddenly spread out in front of me. I stood there for a moment and thought, shit, this is just a figment of my imagination. There’s no one here and I got so scared. I almost started laughing.

However, a moment later I noticed something a few meters away from me. I saw a dent in the grass, it wasn’t a dent I made, it looked like someone was standing there, but I couldn’t see it.

In my head I said to myself, what the f***? and after watching for a while, the thing turned and ran back the same way. I could clearly hear him running and the grass rustling, but I still didn’t see anyone.

At this point I was terrified, I ran to a nearby stream and stood in the middle of it. I remember the water there was up to my ankles. I thought to myself, OK, if this thing is invisible, when it enters the water, I will know where it is.

Immersed in a steady stream, still, immersed in silence as deep as if he had earplugs in his ears, the water was gently roaring, and I was immersed in the stream, waiting. About 15 minutes passed and the silence continued. I knew that what was chasing me hadn’t gone away.

My friends’ camp was about 350 meters away. Usually the light of the fire could be seen from a distance. Just as loud music could be heard. It wasn’t a very peaceful place.

I ran further along the stream and when I reached the pasture gate, which was only about 30m away from the campfire vehicles and the noisy group of friends, I climbed to the top. I didn’t hear the music, I didn’t hear the people, I didn’t see the light fire vehicles or my buddies.

From my vantage point deep in my mind, I heard a voice telling me to keep running until I reached the road. It was strange, but the whole situation was strange, so I obeyed and continued running along the dirt path towards the main road.

Suddenly, it was as if someone snapped their fingers and my ears seemed to unplug. It was surprising, I had never experienced anything like that before. It was as if I had pulled out my stopwatches or emerged from the water.

At this point I heard dogs barking in the distance and followed the road back to my house.

When I got to it I almost fell in my room I grabbed my phone and called my friend asking him who was in the bottom field? because I almost stabbed him. He told me that there was no one in the lower field and asked me what I was talking about?

I asked them where they were camping and he told me it was near the gate where they had been camping all along. I said it was impossible because I got within about 30m of the camp and there was no one there.

He offered to drive his car and pick me up at the fence line of my grandparents’ field to prove me wrong. When I met him at the gate, he told me I looked like I had seen a ghost and then he gave me a ride to the camp.

When we arrived, I immediately went to the gate. I had only been there a moment before, I stepped on it and, just like a moment before, I didn’t see or hear anything. So now I could clearly see the cars and hear people talking.

I have no idea what happened that night, but I’m sure some invisible creature followed me through the forest. I firmly believe that when I walked past where my friends were camping, I was there but they weren’t there or vice versa.

I believe without a doubt that I came close to becoming another case in your missing persons books. This thought completely terrified me. After this event, I tried to look for answers about what I had experienced.

After a few years, I found your books from series one and after reading them, a few thoughts came to my mind.

At that time I was still studying, I was just over 30 years old. I am a white male. I like hunting and in the past I was involved in cross-country and long-distance running.

At the time of this incident, I was wearing hunting gear and clothing, and upon seeing this invisible creature, I instinctively ran towards the water. After reading your books, Dave, I think my story fits the Missing 411 series. Now let’s move on to the mysterious disappearances of truck drivers.

Satwant Singh Bains, 54, disappeared on May 15, 2019. Satwant lived in Fowler, California. This town is located south of Fresno. The man came from India and had been working as a truck driver for 20 years.

His family described him as an extremely devoted father and uncle who was never late. He always kept his word and was a person you could always rely on.

He was approximately 173 cm tall and weighed 104 kg. He had brown eyes and black hair, and on his right hand was a small cross-shaped tattoo. On May 13, 2019, he said goodbye to his loved ones and went on tour to Fairfield, California.

It’s not entirely clear. What cargo was he carrying? Satwant was a diabetic and had to take insulin regularly. If you have watched another movie from the Missing 411 series on Dębowa Chatka (Oak Cottage), you have probably noticed that many of the missing people suffer from some diseases or are disabled.

Bains set off on the road on May 13, and two days later, on May 15, at 4:30 in the morning. Law enforcement officers, in response to the report received, directed their steps towards Interstate 5 and the intersecting Whitworth Road, located on the north-western outskirts of Los Banos.

They were informed about an unusual event. A huge truck with a refrigerated trailer that was idling on the road, constituting an obstacle and partially blocking the right northbound lane. After arriving at the scene, the police noticed that the engine of the powerful vehicle was on and the driver’s door was open. However, there was no sign of the driver in the cabin.

A cell phone and a wallet belonging to Satwant Bains, the owner of the truck, were found inside. Despite a thorough search of the immediate area, the officers did not find any traces indicating Bains’ whereabouts. His vehicle and trailer were secured and towed to a nearby warehouse. The officers made contact with the family.

The family, concerned about the lack of contact, reported Satwant missing to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. His relatives emphasized that his sudden disappearance without any news was completely unusual behavior, which further deepened their concern for his fate. The truck had GPS, which helps prevent theft these days.

This device revealed that just after midnight on May 15, a truck drove to the side of the road and stopped. That night, the California Highway Patrol contacted the Merced County Sheriff’s Department and called for a helicopter to arrive the next morning. In the meantime, a few local restaurants were checked.

Early on May 16, a helicopter landed at the site where the truck was found, and its crew joined the search operation along with local law enforcement officers and rescuers from Merced County.

The police were to search the highway on foot and on bicycles. One of the theories was that the missing fifty-four-year-old man stopped for unknown reasons, got out of the car, was hit, and then dragged to the side of the road and abandoned there.

After contacting the family, they knew it was very unusual for Satwant to abandon and leave the truck in this way.

The man’s relatives said he was happy and everything was perfect in his life. This trip was a routine part of his job and there was nothing unusual about it. There was no indication that he had any problems.

The California Highway Patrol thoroughly searched the entire highway area from both the ground and the air. Authorities began a search in the area off the highway. Unfortunately, no traces were found. Local restaurants were also checked again, but no new information about Satwant’n was discovered there either.

At this point, authorities saw no other option, and on May 17, a Merced County dive team was called in to search the Mendota Canal. This canal runs along the highway and it may be surprising that the search for this body of water began only 2 days after the man’s disappearance.

However, there was a reason for this. Access to it was difficult because it is surrounded by two fences, including one made of barbed wire. No place was found where the fence was cut or damaged in any other way. Despite this, Merced County sheriff’s deputies decided to search him.

The current there is very fast and even people who work there must be especially careful. This is why the entire area is fenced. On May 18, the next day, a team of divers arrived at the site and began a search operation.

At the same time, one of the deputies was walking along the shore and noticed what appeared to be a body in the water. Divers working nearby were called to the scene and after a while they fished out Satwant’s body. The doctor who performed the autopsy concluded that the fifty-four-year-old Driver died of drowning.

To summarize, for Satwant to get to this canal, he would have to cross 2 lanes of the highway, cross the barriers, walk about 15 m further, cross one fence, then another barbed wire fence, and enter the water.

The family released a statement in which they described Satwant as an extremely hard-working truck driver with many years of experience. According to them, he had no mental health problems, but suffered from diabetes. He disappeared just after midnight, as confirmed by the truck’s GPS.

He drowned in mysterious circumstances and the only body of water in the area was the Mendota Canal.

Even if he was pretending to his family, he had some mental problems and theoretically wanted to commit suicide, wouldn’t it be easier to do it in any other place than stopping, blocking traffic on the highway, and then crossing two fences and drowning?

This case is extremely mysterious and I doubt that the man committed suicide. Surat Nuenoom, 48, disappeared on March 16, 2012. Surat was from Malaysia and lived in New Hampshire. He was 168 cm tall and weighed 79 kg.

He was an experienced truck driver and in March 2012, he was transporting a load to Gary, Indiana. His family and colleagues described him as conscientious and trustworthy, as well as a person who never neglected his duties. On March 15 at 7 p.m., Surat arrived at the Ramada Inn in Holiday City, Ohio.

This place lies almost exactly halfway between 2 great lakes. People who have watched other videos about disappearances from this region probably remember that not only people disappear here, but also planes, boats, ships and vessels. Moreover, a huge number of observations of unidentified flying objects have been recorded for years.

But back to the matter. Nueunoom drove his big truck into the Ramada Inn parking lot and checked in at the front desk on March 15 at 7 p.m. Everything looked absolutely normal. Hotel employees did not notice anything disturbing in the forty-eight-year-old’s behavior.

The next day, Friday, March 16, at approximately 1 p.m., when Surat failed to deliver the package to Gary, Indiana, his employer reported him missing to the Williams County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies went to the hotel where Surat was staying. They found his truck properly parked in the parking lot and nothing out of the ordinary was noted. Deputies went to the hotel, spoke to the manager and entered Surat’s room.

Everything looked normal. Exactly as if someone had checked in, perhaps with me taking a nap, the bed was made. Nothing in particular attracted attention. Officers contacted Surat’s family, who confirmed they had had no contact with him the previous night.

Law enforcement contacted the mobile operator and discovered that Surat had tried to call just after midnight on March 16, the day he went missing. On the same day, around 4 p.m., a team with tracking dogs was called to the site.

The animals were given Surat’s clothes from his room in order to get acquainted with the missing person’s scent trail. The dogs searched the area around the hotel, the pond and the paths around, but found nothing of interest. Due to the lack of any traces or leads, the sheriff contacted local emergency services.

He asked for a patrol flight over the area of the disappearance. The helicopter crew combed an area of 10 km from the hotel for 2 hours. The farmland, pond and adjacent roads were searched, but nothing was found. The search operation continued the next day. On March 17, sheriff’s deputies returned to the scene.

They sent a team out to search the ground around the hotel and also spoke to its staff again. However, no one saw anything suspicious. Law enforcement officers also received a list of guests staying in adjacent rooms, but they too did not see or hear anything.

A search was carried out in the hotel room for traces of blood, but these were never found either. On March 19, more searchers returned to the site and the search area was significantly expanded. However, this time nothing was found. The sheriff’s deputies were very confused.

Family, employer and colleagues alike assured that Surat was a reliable truck driver, was never late and had a long history of correctly delivering orders on time. Everyone was surprised and had no idea what could have happened. The sheriff held a meeting with his team late March 19.

It was mentioned that the only place that had not yet been thoroughly searched was the pond on the hotel grounds. So on March 20, about 5 days after the disappearance, the sheriff’s office decided to search the area. They sent 3 divers into the pond, which wasn’t very big.

They used advanced sonar to carefully search the bottom of the tank. Later that day, Sheriff Kevin Beck was interviewed. Journalists asked if anything had been found. Beck stated that he only saw a few large fish and unfortunately nothing else. The pond was therefore considered clean.

The next day, the sheriff’s office announced the end of the search. They had no more places to search. The body wasn’t in the pond, it wasn’t in the hotel room or in the truck.

After 24 days, on May 7, 2012, local anglers found what looked like a body in the pond and called law enforcement. The same deputies who had searched the area earlier arrived on scene and discovered a body floating in the pond.

The body was pulled ashore on May 7, 2012 at 8:07 p.m., and then transported to Lucas County for autopsy. On May 9, the medical examiner issued a statement that the cause of death was not murder, but drowning.

On November 21, 2012, an interview was conducted with deputy Denis Wiśniewski, a thirty-year-old member of the diving team. He was asked about the sura lata case and how they could have missed the body. Wiśniewski admitted that they did not know what went wrong.

He expressed his concern, saying that this wasn’t the first time they had used sonar, but they were completely surprised that the missing man had not been found that time.

As in other cases from the Missing 411 series, the missing person disappears without a trace. The sniffer dogs are unable to find anything, and neither is the search team. A nearby reservoir is thoroughly searched, and a few weeks later a body is found in the same place.

The date of Surat’s death was never made public. All these cases are very disturbing and fit perfectly into the pattern of mysterious disappearances from the Missing 411 series. Thank you for listening to this material until the end. As always, write in the comments what you think about all this?

A ciała podrzucono później.
