Hello? Today, I will introduce you to a wonderful trekking course that is definitely worth a visit. This is Seoul โ€˜Southern Terminalโ€™ I’m planning to catch the first bus in the morning to go to today’s destination. It’s not even 6:30 yet. Please note that even tickets purchased online in advance may require on-site ticketing.

Really! Buses to todayโ€™s destination also depart from โ€˜Dong Seoul Terminalโ€™ The bus you’ll be riding today is a premium bus, right? I think I can just take a deep sleep ๐Ÿ™‚ Let’s go now! As soon as you leave, turn off all the lights. I fell asleep right away ๐Ÿ™‚

As you leave the metropolitan area, mountains covered in white snow welcome you. After passing through a quiet mountain road, a bustling street suddenly appears. This is โ€˜Gohansabuk Bus Terminalโ€™ in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do. It took about 2 hours and 50 minutes from Seoul. The bus stop is quite large.

From here, we will transfer directly to city bus โ€˜57โ€™. The 9:35 bus was just right. Jeongseon Bus is also called โ€˜Wawa Busโ€™. Very good condition ๐Ÿ™‚ There is even a cell phone charging port at every seat on the bus. The large building on the right is โ€˜High1 Resortโ€™.

So, commercial facilities are very developed around here. After about 20 minutes by city bus, the area is now completely surrounded by snowy mountains. After about 30 minutes, I arrived at the bus terminal. You can go up the forest road above the bus terminus.

We haven’t even arrived at our destination yet, but the surrounding snow scenery is no joke. It was snowing just then, so I quickly took out my Gore-Tex jacket and put it on. The snowplows are also busy. Thank you for your hard work!

If you go up the forest road for about 20 minutes, you will first come across the โ€˜Flower Garden on the Mountainโ€™. It is a meeting place for many people and is famous as a snow scene photo spot.

As it is the place with the most snow in Korea, the snow scenery is truly incredible! The snow has piled up so much that the tree branches are bent. If you go up about 10 minutes more from here, you will reach the famous โ€˜Manhangjaeโ€™.

At 1,330m above sea level, it is the highest road and parking lot in the country. The entire area around โ€˜Manhangjaeโ€™ has become a winter wonderland. This area is always crowded with people who come to see the snow. Todayโ€™s trekking course begins from the summit of โ€˜Manhangjaeโ€™ towards โ€˜Hyeseonsa Templeโ€™

Many hikers climb to the top of โ€˜Hambaeksan Mountainโ€™ while enjoying the enchanting snow scenery. I’m going trekking today ๐Ÿ™‚ An unrealistic snowy landscape, like a painting, welcomes hikers. It’s so dazzling that sunglasses are a must. This trekking course has many gentle downhill slopes.

Because the road is good, I always visit this place all year round. Iโ€™m even more excited because itโ€™s said to continue to snow today. You can see a huge wind turbine in the distance. Shrouded in fog, it looks like a giant giant. Looking closely, it seems to be over 100m high.

Now we come to the first crossroads You can go left from here. Direction to โ€˜Hyeseonsa Templeโ€™ From here on, cars and motorcycles are prohibited from entering. But sledding is okay ๐Ÿ™‚ In fact, there were many people who brought sleds. But I often see off-road vehicles like that.

Whatever the reason, I hope we all stick to what we are told not to do. The sound of stepping on snow makes you feel good. From this point on, it started to snow more. The downhill started so I put on crampons. Did you know that crampons are essential when going winter trekking?

There were many pine tree colonies around here. It is a very nice place in spring and fall as well. There is a second crossroads From here, just follow the main road to the right. You can go in the direction of โ€˜Hwajeolryeongโ€™. By the way, it’s snowing more and

Thanks to this, leaves are starting to form on the trees. There is a large vacant lot. This is a โ€˜mineral water rest areaโ€™. Water flows in the middle channel. The color of the rock is all red. It looks like a mixture of minerals.

There is a small mineral water, but you must not drink it. Now, we walk on a wide path along a gentle uphill road. I can’t believe this is a plateau over 1,300 meters above sea level. I feel dizzy when I look down.

The snow continued to fall and turned into ice on my waterproof jacket. When going snow trekking in winter, be sure to bring a waterproof jacket. It’s truly amazing that there is such a well-maintained forest road at an altitude of 1,300m. Itโ€™s the best invention of the Korean Mountaineering Club, right?

Eating lunch inside a plastic shelter is delicious ๐Ÿ™‚ There is a number sign like this in the middle. In case of emergency, it is convenient to tell the location. However, please note that there are many areas outside the currency zone.

Thanks to the snow that continues to fall, the beauty of the snow scenery reaches its peak. There are many people like me who walk for hours to see these snowy scenes, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ While walking while looking at the snowy mountains in the distance, there are also people who ride bicycles through the snow!

As expected, there are a lot of experts in Jaeya. This course has gentle uphills and downhills. If you start from โ€˜Manhangjaeโ€™, there are more downhills. I saw a bench and a well-stacked stone wall in a large vacant lot. I can only imagine how important this road once was.

This is a plateau trekking course created by carving the mountain and breaking rocks. It’s snowing so heavily and the wind is blowing that the trees are all bent. It took about 2 hours to reach the place where the transmission tower can be seen. There is a sign at the crossroads.

Just go in the direction that says โ€˜Mountain Condoโ€™. The road is mostly single so it is not difficult. Personally, this was the coolest section. If you pass the three-way intersection and go straight, you will see a truly beautiful view. To me, it feels like the entrance to a new world.

Even ordinary grass and shrubs are covered with white snow, as if It’s like a work of art I need to go quickly, but the beautiful snow scenery keeps holding me back ๐Ÿ™‚ Especially the trees standing side by side on the cliff. It really looks like a painting

There is no sign at the third intersection with a yellow sign, so go to the right. From now on, the course passes through a truly fantastic forest. Please look forward to! This is the crossroads leading to โ€˜High1 Palace Hotelโ€™ and โ€˜Mountain Condoโ€™

If you want to go a little shorter, you can go towards โ€˜High1 Palaceโ€™. Those who want a more spectacular view can continue towards โ€˜Mountain Condominiumโ€™. We should enjoy this wonderful snowy scenery a little more, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ The snow scenery was so beautiful that it started to feel unreal.

This is todayโ€™s highlight, the fir forest road. The harmony of the sprawling fir forest and snow scenery fills my eyes. Itโ€™s like sprinkling white sugar on a tree made of melted silver, right? I feel really lucky today Everywhere I look, I’m amazed

After passing through the fir forest, you will come to a fork in the road. You can go in the direction of โ€˜Dorongi Pondโ€™ It took about 3 hours to get here. The small pavilion seen at the bottom is the โ€˜Untangodo Rest Areaโ€™. There are many people eating here.

The scenery is really nice, isn’t it? โ€˜Untangodoโ€™ not only means a road used to transport coal, but it also means that the clouds are spread like a carpet. However, the snow hasn’t stopped so the trees can’t withstand the weight of the snow. It’s starting to bend ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it’s in the top three snow scenes I’ve ever seen. Of course, it’s thanks to the weather today. Since this course covers many areas outside of the communication zone, it tells you where you can make calls. To the left, you can see the ski slopes in the distance.

I called this place โ€˜Christmas Tree Forestโ€™ as I wanted ๐Ÿ™‚ To me, it looks like hundreds of Christmas trees gathered together. If you go a little further, something interesting appears. When I got closer, it looked like a coal miner. I’m also carrying a lunch box ๐Ÿ™‚ This place is called โ€˜1177 Gangโ€™.

It was realistic because it was made using an actual mine shaft. You can simply sit down and relax inside the tunnel. It was cozy because there was a chair where you could eat a snack. Of course, you know you shouldn’t light a fire or go camping, right?

There is also a coal truck that was actually used. If you go a little further from here, you will come to โ€˜Dorongi Pondโ€™. This pond actually has a rather sad story. The women who sent their husbands to the coal mine prayed for their safety.

It is said that they prayed to the salamander in this pond. How much did you feel anxious every day? Now the pond is frozen and covered with snow, so you can’t see the pond. So it has become an even more sacred place for winter backpacking.

There are dozens of colorful tents gathered around the pond. For the first time in a while, my will to pack has been rekindled ๐Ÿ™‚ After passing โ€˜Dorongi Pondโ€™, cross the blocking peak and go down to the right. From here, it is the โ€˜High1 Resortโ€™ section. It’s very nice here too

This section is called โ€˜High1 Sky Roadโ€™. You can start backwards from โ€˜High 1โ€™, but Please note that there are a lot of uphill climbs. โ€˜Sky Roadโ€™ is a narrow mountain path. Instead, you can see snowflakes very close up. This is the observatory of Sky Road.

Today, I gained snowflakes but lost the view ^^: There is also a famous fir forest on Sky Road. The fir trees stretching straight into the sky, as if they were drawn with a ruler, are very spectacular. This wooden barrel is a device used to chase away wild boars.

They say if you knock on it like this, it will run away ๐Ÿ™‚ Finally, I came to the exit of Sky Road. It took about 5 hours to get here. Considering breaks, you can expect it to take about 5 and a half hours. When you come out of the exit,

There is a parking lot, and if you go right next to it, there is a condo building. This is โ€˜Mountain Condo Ski Houseโ€™. You can relax here or take the free shuttle bus There is a shuttle bus approximately every 30 minutes. I’m going to catch the 3:30 bus right away.

Shuttle bus routes and timetables can be viewed on the โ€˜High1 Resortโ€™ website. The bus to โ€˜Gohan Stationโ€™ around 3:30 or 4:00 would be appropriate. For those who want to take a break, there is a bus after 6 o’clock. For reference, there is also a separate line to โ€˜Sabuk Stationโ€™. a little more often

I took shuttle (bus) number 1 at 3:30. Because the shuttle bus circulates inside the resort, It took about 30 minutes to get to โ€˜Gohan Stationโ€™ There are many restaurants and restaurants around โ€˜Gohan Stationโ€™. I had dinner here

โ€˜Gohan Stationโ€™ is such a small station. (It looks like you are on the second floor after climbing the hill) The Mugunghwa train runs to โ€˜Cheongnyangni Stationโ€™ in Seoul four times a day. I made a reservation for the 4:47 train. If you have a leisurely rest, you can take the 7:35 train.

There are two ways to return from โ€˜High1 Resortโ€™: take the train like I did or take a taxi. You can go to โ€˜Gohansabuk Terminalโ€™ and take a bus. Another way is to leave for Seoul at 5 o’clock. You can also use the ski resort shuttle bus.

Please note that the ski resort shuttle bus departs from the โ€˜Belli Condoโ€™ parking lot. Safety is the top priority during winter trekking, so be prepared with cold weather gear and auxiliary batteries. Please bring plenty of lunch, snacks, and water, and have a safe and enjoyable trek. Thank you for watching today!
